Black Woman Turns Indian Bride In A Red Banarasi Saree As She Gets Married As Per 'Sanatani' Rituals

A wedding is a union of two souls, and in India, according to Santan Dharam, marriage is the union for the next seven lives. It is considered divine intervention and 'Shiv and Shakti milan'. It is often said that Santan Dharam doesn't believe in conversion, but rather, people follow it as a way of living. Recently, we stumbled upon a black bride, who is a Krishna devotee, who got married as per the Santani ritual.

A black woman looked whimsical in a red saree 

The bride, Syama, is a deity cosmetologist, as per her Instagram page. She transforms Krishan shilas into Lord Jagannath and many more deities using clay. Her love for Indian Gods and Goddesses is clearly visible on her work page, where she often shares glimpses of the deities she has made over the years.

Recently, she got married as per Santani rituals. For the day, she wore a gorgeous red Banarasi saree with golden embroidery and border. She styled her saree with a half-sleeved matching blouse. It was beautifully draped, and the pallu was secured over her side shoulder, and she wore a gold kamarbandh.

Bride wore heavy gold jewellery, which made her look like Goddess Lakshmi

Talking about the jewels, Syama looked prettier in gold necklaces. She wore a gold choker with a heavy temple necklace and another pearl necklace, which added the right amount of layers of jewels to her look. Further, she styled her look with matching earrings, a mathapatti and a nath. Her bridal look was completed with a couple of red bangles and gold haathphool.

The bride dolled up herself in subtle makeup with highlighted cheeks, soft eyeshadow, and white eyeliner. Another highlight of her look was her Krishan tilak. For the unversed, the U-shaped chandan tilak with red bindi, and a tulsi leaf pattern on the nose symbolises Krishan's lotus feet. For a Krishan devotee, it is the biggest ornament. Her hair was styled in a long braid that further made her look like a Goddess. Talking about the groom's look, he was dressed up in a cream bandhgala kurta with a dhoti. Their wedding was completed as per Santani rituals. 

Bride wore phoolon ka dupatta for her Haldi ceremony

For the haldi ceremony, the bride wore a beautiful yellow-toned anarkali. She styled it with real flower dupatta and a gendha phool border. She accessorised her look with real flower jewellery, a choker neckpiece, matching jhumkas and a maanthpatti. Subtle makeup and hair tied up in a bun made her look complete. The haldi ceremony was completed in the presence of Radha-Krishna.
