Bobby Deol is basking in the immense success of his latest released film, Animal, co-starring Ranbir Kapoor, and others. In his multiple interviews, he has talked about tasting success after a long period of flops and no work. However, in a recent interview, he spoke about being a broad-minded person who let his wife, Tanya Deol, follow her profession. He further explained the dynamics between him with his sons and his father. For the unversed, Bobby tied the knot with Tanya on May 30, 1996, and they are blessed with two boys, Aryaman and Dharam.
In an interview with Zoom Entertainment, Bobby Deol opened up about his relationship with his sons, Aryaman and Dharam. He also mentioned that the kind of bonding he has with his sons, was much different from the one he had with his father, Dharmendra, during his childhood. Bobby revealed that due to a sense of respect for Dharmendra, there was always a hesitation in him. However, that hesitation has never been noticed by the doting daddy, Bobby, in his kids' case. He explained:
“When I was growing up, it was a different scenario all together. There was respect that you had to keep for your parents. You cannot go beyond certain things. With your mothers, you can still fight, still argue. Mothers are made like that, but fathers ke saath always jhijhak rehti thi. I saw that it didn’t happen with me and my kids, and its not my dad’s fault because he grew up in the same environment.”

Further, the actor, who is extremely elated with the success of Animal, credited his success to his wife, Tanya, who is a film costume designer by profession. In the same conversation, Bobby revealed being humbled by the praises coming his way for his performance in the film and revealed that this is all because of Tanya. He further called himself ‘broad-minded’ for never forcing his wife to stop working, and mentioned that he didn't want to repeat the same mistakes as his father did in his time. Bobby added:
“But I am a very broad-minded person. I never stopped my wife from working, or subdue her, or make her feel less about herself. I am what I am because of my wife. It’s just that I am blessed.”
Contrary to what Bobby has said, his mother, Prakash Kaur and big brother, Sunny Deol's wife, Pooja Deol never worked in films. Prakash and Pooja have always stayed away from the limelight. And it is only very recently since Sunny's elder son, Karan Deol's wedding, that we are getting clear pictures of Prakash and Pooja. Once, in an old interview with Deccan Chronicle in 2013, Sunny also addressed the same and revealed a few anecdotes of his mother and wife's personal decisions.

In the old interview, Sunny was asked why his mother, Prakash Kaur and wife, Pooja Deol stay away from the limelight. In addition, he was also asked whether the men in his family, including him and his father, Dharmendra had ever forced their wives to do the same. To this, Sunny immediately answered in denial and mentioned that this was completely untrue. Instead, he revealed that Pooja takes her own decision and she stayed away from the media only because the star wife never wanted to make frequent public appearances. Sunny said:
"That’s not true. Neither my mother nor my wife was forced to stay away from the limelight. My wife is her own person. She has always had the liberty to make her own decisions. To not make public appearances is her own call. Like I said, neither my father nor I have forced the women in our family to follow our rules."
