Bobby Deol is best remembered as one of the darling heartthrobs of his generation, whose mere smile could make thousands of ladies go weak on their knees. However, when it comes to his personal life, he fell in love with his only lady, Tanya Deol. The duo, who was married in 1996, have still kept the spark in their relationship intact. Moreover, Bobby and Tanya are an old-school couple who prefer to keep their happy and cherished moments away from the media glare.
In a throwback interview with ace designers, Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla, Tanya Deol came aboard for the first time to speak about herself and her personal life. As she recalled many different experiences and anecdotes about her married life, she revealed how her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Parkash Kaur and Dharmendra, treated her more like a daughter and not as a daughter-in-law. She also mentioned that they welcomed her with open arms and that, to date, she enjoys a fabulous relationship with each of them. In her words:
"I have been married for a long time now. And I think they treat me more like a daughter now. It's great, they are amazing people."

Interestingly, Tanya moved into a large joint family after marriage, which is entirely different from the nuclear family she had been brought up into. Apart from her husband, Bobby and his parents, she also revealed that she got a friend cum confidante in her sister-in-law and Sunny Deol’s wife, Pooja Deol. Going further in the interview, she revealed that she and Pooja like splitting the entire household duty month-wise so that no one person is overburdened about the same. In her words:

Marriage changes a woman's life completely as she enters a new world with a new set of people. For Tanya, things were no different, especially because she got married to a film family while she belonged to a business family. Engaging in a candid chat with the hosts, Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla, she recalled that she had to adjust to the erratic schedules of a film family as compared to the already known 9 to 5 working schedule of a business family. In her words:
"Well, both are entirely different set ups. When you are in a business, you have a 9 to 5 job. Whereas when you're working in films, there's no fixed hours."
While much time had passed since Bobby tied the knot with Tanya, the spark of their chemistry is still very much intact. In the same interview, Tanya also recalled a funny incident about meeting her then-future-husband, Bobby Deol, for the first time. She mentioned how after wilfully losing to her at a Diwali card game in Chunky Panday’s house, he later called up Tanya at midnight when she was fast asleep. Moreover, Tanya also revealed that she did not recognise him on the phone for once and simply slammed the phone shut. She mentioned:
“I went to play cards during the Diwali season at Chunky's (Panday) house, and Bobby came and he sat with me and we played cards at the same table. He kept losing to me, but he wouldn't pay me, he kept saying he'd take me out for a meal. I was like 'what's wrong with this guy?'"

Apart from being a fabulous couple, Bobby and Tanya are also proud parents to their two sons, Aryaman and Dharam. Interestingly, their secondborn shares the same name as his grandfather, Dharmendra. Revealing the reason behind the same, Tanya mentioned that it was a conscious decision by both of them and was more of a gesture of love to the legendary actor and their father, Dharmendra.
As an actor’s wife, life comes with various trials and tribulations, especially since the world has its eyes on them. Tanya’s experience has been quite similar and proof of the same was found when during a rapid-fire questionnaire in the same interview, she was asked to react to her husband Bobby’s kissing scenes on-screen. Tanya very maturely responded that she does not think of them otherwise and considers it a normal requirement for a film.
