In a shocking turn of events, a bride gets kidnapped by a group of men while she was heading towards her in-laws' home after her wedding. The incident took place in Guna district when the bride was travelling with her husband to Sawai Madhopur, Rajasthan. The 24-year-old groom travelled to the 18-year-old bride's village in Ashoknagar's Ratikheda village and got married.
However, after the vidaai ceremony, when the bride and groom were returning to Sawai Madhopur, they were attacked by a group of men. Initially, the men followed the bride and groom in an SUV, and later, when their car reached Ruthiyai of Guna district, the SUV overtook and blocked the newlyweds.
Seven to eight people came out of the car, armed with knives, and forcibly pulled out the bride. Not just this, they also smashed the groom’s car and assaulted the groom, leaving him injured on the National Highway. Before fleeing with the bride, the kidnappers also punctured the groom’s car.
The police were quickly alerted by the groom and his family, and rescue operation began soon. The Sub-Divisional Officer of Police (SDOP) Deepa Dudwe, elaborated on the incident to the reporters and said:
“The accused broke the car windows with knives, assaulted the groom, and forcibly took the bride away in their SUV.”
Ruthiyai police were immediately alerted, and officers arrived at the scene quickly. SDOP Deepa Dudwe of Raghogarh confirmed that the bride is from Ratikheda village in Ashoknagar. Soon, the police got hold of five kidnappers, and the bride too was rescued. As per the Sub-Divisional Officer, the bride already knew the accused as she was heard pleading with him not to harm her husband.

As per multiple reports, the girl was previously in a relationship with a man before her marriage and managed to elope with him twice before getting married. Talking about the arrest, the police said:
“We took swift action following the complaint. Search teams were sent out immediately and we managed to apprehend the kidnappers around 2pm in Dewas. Two of the accused managed to escape but the remaining five were arrested. The girl has been recovered safely, and they are all being brought to Guna.”
Investigations are still ongoing, and police are trying to locate the remaining accused. The police have also located the vehicle used for abduction, and the search operation is still on across multiple districts. Police are currently questioning the arrested suspects to understand the motive behind the kidnapping.
