Celebrities And The Victim's Husband Come To Allu Arjun's Defense In 'Pushpa 2' Stampede Case

Allu Arjun's arrest caused a wave of disharmony in the industry. The actor was arrested earlier on December 13, 2024 in connection with a fan's death at Pushpa 2: The Rule premiere. The court charged the actor with Section 105 for culpable homicide, Section 118 (1) for voluntarily causing harm and Section 3 (5) for negligence related to public safety, under Indian Penal Code. 

Celebrities come to Allu Arjun's defense

The case has taken a wild turn, and the industry is in shock. The unfortunate incident has everyone's condolences but Allu Arjun's arrest has caused a disarray in the media. For the unversed, Allu Arjun was arrested in the Pushpa 2: The Rule Stampede case earlier today and was sent to judicial custody for 14 days. However, Telangana High Court granted interim bail to the actor. Still, his co-stars and many celebrities are not happy about the proceedings.

Rashmika Mandanna expresses her disbelief over the case proceedings

Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2: The Rule co-star, Rashmika Mandanna has reacted to the former's arrest on social media. The actress took to her Instagram account, and shared her disbelief over the ongoing situation. She wrote that the incident was unfortunate, but she cannot comprehend how the actor was at fault. She wrote:

"I can’t believe what I am seeing right now. The incident that happened was unfortunate and deeply saddening. However, it is disheartening to see everything being blamed on a single individual. This situation is both unbelievable and heartbreaking."

Actor, Nani questions the government and media

Actor, Nani was another celebrity who came to Allu Arjun's defence. He said that he wishes the govenment and media would penned a note on X (formerly Twitter) showed his dismay with the media's ‘enthusiasm’ when it comes to anything related to celebrities. He penned that the accident was unfortunate but not a single person's fault. He wrote:

"I wish the kind of enthusiasm government authorities and media show in anything related to people from cinema were also there for the regular citizens. We would have lived in a better society. That was an unfortunate incident and it was heart breaking. We should all learn from the disaster and be a lot more careful hereafter and introduce measures to make sure this doesn’t happen again. We are all at fault here. One person is not responsible for this."

Telangana Minister, Bandi Sanjay Kumar questions government over the treatment of Allu Arjun in the stampede case

The case has also become an political issue. Bandi Sanjay Kumar, Minister of State for Home Affairs, Telangana also took to his X account and shared his take on the matter. He wrote that the way Allu Arjun was arrested from his bedroom was disgraceful. He added that an actor of his stature deserved better treatment and even though the accident is unfortunate it shows the Congress government's failure to manage massive crowds.

Former minister, KTR called Allu Arjun's arrest a pinnacle of insecurity

K.T. Rama Rao, was another politician who stood up for Allu Arjun. He took to his X account and shared his thoughts on the arrest of the stellar actor. He wrote that he sympathises with the victim's family and questioned who really was at fault. He called Allu Arjun's treatment as a common criminal unjust. He further condemned the government for the way they handled the situation.

Varun Dhawan defended Allu Arjun during his Baby John, Jaipur promotion

Varun Dhawan was at a promotion event in Jaipur to promote his upcoming film, Baby John. Varun addressed the Pushpa 2: The Rule stampede during the event and defended Allu Arjun. Varun said that there are safety protocol, and an actor cannot be held responsible for everything. He then commended Cinepolis for the great management and said that he is heartbroken by the incident. However, the blame cannot be placed at one person only.

Stampede victim, Revathi's husband, Bhaskar said he will withdraw his complaint

Hours after Allu Arjun's arrest, the victim, Revathi's husband, Bhaskar spoke with the media. He shared how he was not made aware of the arrest and had just came to know about it through news. He added that he will withdraw his complaint if necessary as he doesn't believe that the actor is at fault. He shared:

"We only went to Sandhya Theatre that day because my son wanted to watch the movie. It's not Allu Arjun's fault that he visited the theatre that day. I am ready to withdraw my case. Police didn't inform me of his arrest, I watched it on the news at the hospital. He has nothing to do with stampede."
