'Chhaava on Netflix' is the phrase that is currently doing rounds all over social media. The much-awaited film is now available on Netflix after the streaming giant added Laxman Utekar's film to their platform on April 11, 2025. Netflix made the official announcement about Chhaava coming on their platform in style, as it wrote, "Aale Raje aale. Witness a tale of courage and glory etched in time. Watch Chhaava, out April 11 on Netflix", in the caption of their IG post.
For the uninitiated, Vicky Kaushal's Chhaava has collected a sum of Rs. 583.3 crore in India net, beating Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan (Rs. 582.31 crore) to become third biggest hit in the history of Indian cinema. As per some reports, the worldwide collection of Chhaava stands at the jaw-dropping mark of Rs. 789.65 crore. As of now, Chhaava is the highest-grossing film of the year 2025. Now that it has been dropped to our Netflix screens, industry experts have already predicted that it can make and break some streaming records for sure.
Talking more about the film, Chhaava, it features as series of exceptional actors playing famous historical characters. Vicky Kaushal as 'Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj', Rashmika Mandanna as 'Yesubai Bhonsale', Akshaye Khanna as 'Aurangzeb', Ashutosh Rana as 'Hambirrao Mohite', Vineet Kumar Singh as 'Kavi Kalash', Diana Penty as 'Zinat-un-Nissa Begum', and many more. While the entire spotlight is on Vicky Kaushal and Akshaye Khanna, today we are going to talk about Diana Penty, who played an extremely vital character in the film but didn't get the attention she deserved.
Diana Penty is one of the few actors in Bollywood, who has yet to taste the success and stardom they deserves. The actress made her acting debut in Homi Adjania's 2012 film, Cocktail, in which she played the character of 'Meera Sahni'. The actress was nominated for the 'Best Debut' award at multiple award functions like BIG Star, Filmfare Awards, Screen Awards, Zee Cine Awards, and many more. After her smashing debut with Cocktail, she went on to do 12 films in a period of 11 years.
Some of Diana Penty's most famous films are Happy Bhaag Jayegi, Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran, Shiddat, Selfiee, Azaad, and Chhaava. Talking about Diana's character in Chhaava, which is undoubtedly the biggest character she has played in her acting career so far, courtesy of its historical background. Zinat-un-Nissa was the second daughter of Aurangzeb and Dilras Banu Begum. Her father conferred Zinat as the honourable Padshah Begum. When Aurangzeb marched with an army of 8,00,000 soldiers to fight against Chhatrapati Sambhaji Raje Bhonsle, he was joined by his daughter.

Upon Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj's unfortunate death at the hands of Aurangzeb and his military, Yesubai Bhonsale and her son, Shahu Maharaj, were captured by the Mughal army. However, it was at that moment when Aurangzeb's daughter, Zinat-un-Nissa, stepped in and took Yesubai and Shahu under her wings. After the death of Aurangzeb, Zinat was the one who told Shahu to leave the Mughal camp and head straight to his homeland. Courtesy of her kindness, the Maratha empire commissioned a mosque in the memory of Zinat-un-Nissa in Maharashtra. The Mughal princess died at 77 in Delhi.
