One of the cutest actresses of the telly town, Dalljiet Kaur, who has now changed her name to Deepa, has made major headlines due to her controversial married life with co-actor-hubby, Shalin Bhanot. The actress had filed a case of domestic and physical violence against her then hubby and things took an ugly turn. The ex-couple is also blessed with an adorable son, Jaydon.
However, the actress has churned the negatives into positives and used her divorce as a means of strength for her weight-loss transformation. The result? We will show you in the following picture. Pssst! Deepa is awaiting her ‘Mr Charming’ to come her way and she is all set to start a second phase of her life afresh.
In an interview with a leading media portal, she shared, “My parents are searching for a partner for me in full swing, far and wide. They are not leaving any stone unturned. My house has turned into shaadi.com, these days. But I am not in too much hurry for it, like they are. At the same time I am very open to marriage. If I get someone charming, I will go ahead rightaway."
So, is she looking for an arranged marriage or love? What is the kind of partner she is looking for? The Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon Actress further revealed, “I think it will be an arranged marriage. Maine apna try karke dekh liya kuch naa hua. So now, my parents will do the needful. They know better than us what we need. And after such an experience (she had a very ugly divorce with Shalin Bhanot), they are taking care of a lot many things." (Don't Miss! When asked if she is planning to tie the knot anytime soon, Deepa shared, “I said na, it could be even rightaway if I get a Mr Charming jaldi. Plus, I am not the one who will hide the news. So, as and when it happens, you will hear it." Well, some wedding bells ringing soon, guys!
In a throwback interview with The Indian Express last year (2017), Deepa had shared why she isn’t scared of believing in love, even after she had such a terrible experience. She stated, “Last year I had said that I was scared of love but today I don’t feel the same. I have so many people around me who have love in their hearts for me. I do believe in love. I might be second time lucky. My family has started looking around… I don’t stop them because they are old… They want that by the time Jaydon grows up, he shouldn’t feel absence of a father. My condition is that I don’t want to be someone out of need. I don’t need a man, I am happy by myself so, I just want a happy soul to add to my happiness. That’s it.”
Post her divorce, Deepa’s son’s custody is with her. The actress revealed that she decided to work on herself because she didn’t want her son to think that his mother was a feeble woman. In the same interview, she had shared, “I decided to pick myself up when I realised I had nothing to lose. I was at my lowest a year ago. When you don’t have anything to lose you become fearless. Neither did I look beautiful because I had put on weight, nor was I financially stable. I didn’t want my son to grow up seeing his mother like that”. Deepa is an exemplar to many single mothers out there or those who are having a tough marriage. In the interview, she recalled about how people had advised her not to walk out of the marriage because life as a single mother would be difficult. She had said, “When I thought of divorce, there were a lot of women who told me, ‘Life of single women is messy, you will be alone, you will be left alone. How could a girl walk out of marriage…’ I used to feel scared. But then I thought that if I don’t believe in myself, the world won’t. I worked on my marriage. It lasted for seven years. So, obviously I worked on it. But when I thought it’s not what I want, I had to leave. People tell me that you have changed and you are much stronger than before. I just know that I am much happier than before. I take time out for myself. I do what I love. I do things for myself and that happiness reflects in my relationship with my son. If you are happy from within, your child is automatically taken care of.”
Wow! These thoughts are so inspiring Deepa. We hope and wish you luck so that you find your ‘Mr Charming’ soon who will regain your belief and trust about falling in love, all over again.
