'Devara Part 2' Announced, Jr. NTR To Return As 'Devara' And 'Varadha' In This Blockbuster Film

Telugu cinema fans are in for a treat as one of the most talked-about films of recent times is all set to return with its sequel very soon. After the record-breaking success of the 2024 film, Devara: Part 1 starring Janhvi Kapoor, Jr. NTR, Saif Ali Khan and more, the makers have announced the second part of the film with superstar, Jr. NTR.

Jr. NTR will return in double role in Devara: Part 2

Fans of the film, Devara: Part 1 have got a reason to celebrate the first anniversary of the film's release on September 27, 2025. To remember the milestone, the makers of the film took to their X (formerly Twitter) handles to announce the sequel of this highly anticipated film. They also confirmed that Jr. NTR  will return in a double role. The X post can be read as:

"It’s been one year since HAVOC struck the shores, trembling every coast… and the name the world remembers is #DEVARA. Be it the FEAR it unleashed or the LOVE it earned, the streets will never forget. Now gear up for #Devara2. Man of Masses @tarak9999. More about Devara: Part 1

Devara: Part 1 is an epic action drama directed by Koratala Siva, starring Jr. NTR in a powerful dual role as 'Devara' and 'Varadha'. The film is set in a coastal village and it follows 'Devara', who fights an arms smuggling organisation led by his rival, 'Bhaira'. 

The film ended with a cliffhanger, leaving the audience eager for more. 'Devara' and 'Varadha' had an epic face-off with 'Bhaira'. After a series of high-octane confrontations, the father-son duo managed to survive but the conflict wasn't resolved. The end also showed 'Varadha' taking charge to confront the threats. 

The film starred Jr. NTR, Saif Ali Khan, Janhvi Kapoor, Prakash Raj, Srikanth, Shine Tom Chacko and more. When the film released, it had a strong opening, and it earned almost Rs. 521 crores. It became Jr. NTR's second-biggest opener after the blockbuster film, RRR. Despite earning well, the film received mixed reviews from critics and fans. 

More about Jr. NTR

Jr. NTR was born on May 20, 1983, in Hyderabad to actor-politician, Nandamuri Harikrishna and Shalini Bhaskar Rao. He is the grandson of N. T. Rama Rao. The War 2 actor started his career as a child artist in Brahmashri Vishwamitra and his first lead role was in Ninnu Choodalani. Over the years, he has appeared in films like Student No. 1, Aadi, Simhadri, Jai Lava Kusa, Aravinda Sametha Veera Raghava and more. 

Most recently, Jr. NTR was seen in the film, War 2, alongside Hrithik Roshan. He gained widespread popularity with the film, RRR and the viral song, Naatu Naatu. In his personal life, the actor is married to Lakshmi Pranathi since May 5, 2011, and the couple has two sons, Abhay and Bhargav Ram.
