'Dhadak 2' Trailer: Karan Johar's Forbidden Love Story Featuring Siddhant And Triptii Impresses Fans

Karan Johar is back with his directorial film, Dhadak 2. While the first film launched his best friend, Sridevi's daughter, Janhvi Kapoor, the second instalment looks promising as it shows intense acting of Bollywood's two most-loved gemstones, Triptii Dimri and Siddhant Chaturvedi, as the protagonists. The much-awaited trailer received a lot of love from the audience in the intercaste love story.

A three-minute-long trailer of the film was dropped on Instagram. The video opened with Siddhant telling Triptii how she should stay away from him if she loved him. However, she hugs him and refuses to leave. Siddhant, who is playing the role of 'Neelesh' in the film, stated that living with him is not that easy. Triptii is playing the role of 'Vidhi' and the two met in law college. 

In the film, 'Vidhi' is a bold young woman who wants to explore life as it comes, whereas Siddhant's character is simple and sweet, and he just wants to complete his education in a world where he doesn't seem to fit in. The two fell in love like old Bollywood films, but it is Triptii's family that becomes the villain and objects to their intercaste relationship. Sharing the trailer video, Karan Johar penned:

"Two worlds collide to beat as one #Dhadak2 trailer out now! Releasing in cinemas on 1st August."

A while ago, Siddhant shared a unique list of elements that are going to be part of his upcoming film, Dhadak 2. He mentioned that there will be a poem by Shailendra, a couplet by the legendary revolutionary, Bhagat Singh. Kishore Kumar's soulful voice, Thomas Jefferson's words, and a little bit of Shah Rukh Khan's magic.

As soon as the video surfaced on the internet, netizens expressed their love for the film. One user wrote, "I think this is the remake of tamil movie pariyerum perumaal. It's a hit movie. Very heart-touching movie." A second netizen commented, "Plz last time ki tarah disappoint mat Karna ! Vo scene aaj bhi dekh le to neend nahi aati." A third one pointed, "Thank God, Triptii dimri is back to her form."

More about Dhadak 2

For the unversed, Dhadak 2 is based on the 2018 Tamil film, Pariyerum Perumal. It is a story about a law student who comes from a lower caste and fell in love with a girl in his college from an upper caste family. Within no time, their bond gets tested due the caste tensions. The film is written by Rahul Badwelkar, Shazia Iqbad and produced by Karan Johar, Umesh Kumar Bansal, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, Meenu Arora, Somen Mishra and Pragati Deshmukh under the collaboration of Zee Studios and Dharma Productions. 

The protagonist of the second film, Siddhant Chaturvedi, is famously known for his role in the film Gully Boy. He then left a significant presence in the film, Gehraiyaan, and his screen presence opposite Deepika Padukone was loved by many. On the other hand, Triptii is famous for her roles in the films, Qala and Animal. The duo's casting in the film is going to give a new take on love stories.
