Yuzvendra Chahal's personal life has grabbed a whole lot of attention lately. The Indian cricketer got married to Dhanashree Verma in 2020, and it was in March 2025, when the couple got divorced. A lot had been written and circulated about Dhanashree and Yuzi, in the last few months, but they mostly kept mum about the clamour around. Recently, Yuzvendra Chahal sat for an interview with Raj Shamani, wherein he talked about his personal life, divorce from Dhanashree and more. The cricketer also shared whether he feels his marriage to Dhanashree was 'too quick'.
Talking to Raj Shamani, Yuzvendra Chahal shared that it's different in relationships, wherein there are break-ups and patch-ups, but it's different when it's a marriage, which brings two people under the same roof. Yuzi said that it was during lockdown, when there was a huge surge of marriages, divorces, and births, and given his new relationship with Dhanashree, everything might have happened in the flow.
Yuzi stated that he met Dhanashree during that time, and months later, she shifted to Mumbai, but it was not working out, given the frequent travels, and it was hard for the cricketer to manage both his game and family. Yuzvendra could be quoted as saying:
"Most difficult for me was to give equal time to both family and my game. She was my dance teacher. We met after lockdown and within 4-5 months everything was decided. Then she started living in Mumbai due to work, and travel back-and-forth to Gurgaon thrice a week. We eventually decided it's not working out."
Yuzvendra Chahal mentioned that he didn't pay much attention to whether he got married too quickly or not, but it all happened in the flow. The sportsperson said that it's a confusing state of someone not wanting it as well. Yuzi stated that it's been two years, but he's not sure whether he would get into any relationship ever again. Going forward in the interview, Yuzi mentioned that real love is about understanding, loyalty and commitment. He emphasised the need for an understanding that if someone is away for a month for work, the other person won't become attached elsewhere. Yuzi said:
"Ideal love is understanding, loyalty and commitment. Even if I don't come home for a month, can I trust you not to get attached somewhere else?"
In the same interview, Yuzvendra Chahal mentioned that if something doesn't work out, people don't start fighting. The sportsperson shared that he regrets the first fight, but after that, he hasn't had any more. Yuzvendra shared that when things blow out of proportion, it gives the impression that they can't be taken anymore. Stating that he didn't raise his voice, or raise his hands or voice, Yuzi revealed:

"There needs to be an understanding, incase anything doesn't work out, you don't start fighting. I regret the first fight. After that, I don't! Things blew up so much that you feel you've had enough. I didn't abuse or raise my hand, my voice rose. That's all."
In the same interview, Yuzi Chahal revealed that after his divorce, he was tagged as a cheater, and he had never cheated in his life with anyone; thus, it had a negative impact on him. He shared that being spotted with someone doesn't justify people writing nonsense just for views, but he never said anything. Yuzi stated that he has been in depression for several months, and his mind has completely stopped working; thus, he used to have suicidal thoughts during that time.
