Dhanashree Verma's Family Reacts On Yuzi Chahal Paying Rs. 60 Crore Alimony, 'No Amount..'

Indian cricketer, Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma reportedly are officially separated. On February 21, 2025, social media exploded with the news of the couple separating, while divorce proceeding formalities were completed on February 20, 2025. The hearing reportedly happened at Mumbai's Bandra Court. Earlier, there were reports that Yuzi had to pay Rs. 60 crore alimony to Dhanashree. Now, one of her family members has called the rumour baseless and has reacted to the claims.

Dhanashree Verma's family member opens up on Rs. 60 crore divorce alimony settlement

Dhanashree's lawyer, Advocate Aditi Mohoni, stated in a statement to the Bombay Times stated that the matter is currently sub judice and that the media needed to fact-check before reporting, as a lot of misleading information is being circulated. There was a lot of outrage against Dhanshree when reports that Chahal had to pay a hefty amount of Rs. 60 crore to Dhanashree. She was called as a 'gold digger' and an opportunist. One of her family members who wanted to be anonymous told the Bombay Times:

"We are deeply outraged by the baseless claims being circulated about the alimony figure. Let me be absolutely clear. No such amount has ever been asked, demanded, or even offered. There is no truth to these rumors whatsoever. It is deeply irresponsible to publish such unverified information, dragging not just the parties but also their families into unnecessary speculation."

The family member also urged the press to exercise restraint and fact-check before spreading misinformation and also be respectful towards everyone’s privacy. Neither Yuzi nor Dhanashree had made any prior statements related to the alimony amount rumours. Speculations of their divorce came to light in 2024 when fans noticed that the duo had unfollowed one another on Instagram and deleted their snaps, adding more fuel to the fire. Dhanashree had kept the pictures, but this led to gossip about their financial settlement and separation.

Bandra Court judge asked Yuzi Chahal and Dhanashree Verma to take counselling before divorce proceeding

According to an ABP News report, the judge had given Yuzvendra and Dhanashree advice to take counselling that lasted for 45 minutes. After the counselling session was done, the judge was given the information that the duo wanted to part ways on mutual grounds. It was further shared that Dhanashree and Yuzi have lived separately for 18 months. When asked about the reason for divorce, the pair reportedly cited, 'compatibility issues'.

It was further revealed that Chahal and Dhanashree were living separately for the past 18 months. When asked about the possible reason behind seeking a divorce, the couple said that they had 'compatibility issues'. Chahal had posted a powerful post about God protecting him. It read:

"God has protected me more times than I can count. So I can only imagine the times I've been rescued that I don't even know about. Thank you, God, for always being there, even when I don't know it. Amen."
