Dharmendra Moves In With First Wife, Hema Lives Separately, Bobby Deol Says, 'Papa Mummy Are..'

Dharmendra and Hema Malini's wedding in 1980 had sent shockwaves through the nation. Not only were they one of the most iconic on-screen couples of Bollywood, but Dharmendra was also a married man with four children. The two stars got married, but Dharmendra didn't divorce his first wife, Prakash Kaur, either. Bobby Deol, the actor's son from his first wife, recently revealed that the veteran actor now lives with his mother, while step-mother, Hema Malini has her own house. 

Bobby Deol reveals parents, Dharmendra and Prakash Kaur, are living in a farmhouse together 

Dharmendra, who is 89 years old, often posts quotes on social media about loneliness and solitude. In a recent interview with ABP Live, his son and actor, Bobby Deol, was asked if his father was getting lonely. Bobby stated that his father gets 'a little dramatic'. However, the veteran actor isn't lonely and has been living in his farmhouse in Khandala with his first wife, Prakash Kaur. For the unversed, Bollywood actors, Sunny and Bobby Deol are the sons of Dharmendra and Prakash. The couple also shares two daughters who remain out of the spotlight. Talking about his parents living together, Bobby shared:

"My mum is also there. They’re both at the farm in Khandala right now. Papa and Mummy are together; he just gets a little dramatic. They love being at the farmhouse. They’re also old now, and being at the farmhouse is relaxing for them. The weather is nice, the food is nice. Papa has made a paradise out there.”

Bobby Deol then talked further about his mother, Prakash Kaur. He said that not a lot of people know about her, but she is the strongest woman the actor has ever met. Despite coming from a small village in Punjab, Prakash adjusted to the city life of Mumbai as a superstar's wife. Bobby also credited his mother for the success of Dharmendra. The Barsaat actor shared:

"My mother is a housewife, and I am her favourite. We speak every day. In fact, she called me twice just today. She’s the strongest woman I’ve ever met in my life. She’s had a very tough journey. She came from a small village, and the way of living was very simple. And then, to adjust to city life as the wife of a superstar… It wasn’t easy. I am what I am because of my wife, and it is the same with my father. It is because of my mother’s support that my father became a big star.”

When Hema Malini revealed living separately from Dharmendra 

In an earlier interview with Lehren Retro, Hema Malini spoke about her current family dynamics. The veteran actress revealed that she wasn't living with her husband, Dharmendra, anymore. Hema stated that it automatically happened and she accepted it. The actress shared that despite wanting to have a normal family with a husband and children, she does not feel bad about it. Hema also expressed being happy with her two daughters, Esha and Ahana. Talking about living separately from her husband, Hema stated:

“Nobody wants to be like that; it happens. Automatically, what happens, you have to accept. Otherwise nobody will feel like they want to live their life like this. Every woman wants to have a husband, children, like a normal family. But somewhere, it went out of the way… I am not feeling bad about it, or sulking about it. I am happy with myself. I have my two children, and I have brought them up very well.”
