Dharmendra Kewal Krishan Deol, mononymously known as Dharmendra, is an Indian actor, producer, and politician who predominantly works in Hindi films. The actor is counted among the most handsome Indian actors of all time and is lovingly called the 'He-Man' of B-Town. In his stellar career, which spanned over six decades, Dharmendra has worked in more than 200 films.
Dharmendra began his career in 1960 and is still going strong with new projects lined up ahead. His journey in the industry is nothing short of spectacular, and fans have eagerly expressed the desire to see a biopic of the legend's life. The actor has had a fantastic run, and he celebrates his 89th birthday on December 8, 2024. Despite his increasing age, he has proved that he won't allow it to slow him down.
A few years back, Dharmendra shared his thoughts on which actor he would like to see play him in his biopic. Surprisingly, he did not pick his sons, Sunny Deol or Bobby Deol, to play him. Instead, he revealed that he felt Salman Khan would be a great pick for the role. Although, there hasn't been any official announcement of a biopic, the question has always been a hot topic.
Dharmendra was interviewed back in 2018 and asked who would be a fit candidate to play his role if a biopic was to be made on him. The veteran actor surprised everyone and shared that he would choose Salman Khan for the role as he feels like they have a lot in common when it comes to their habits. He revealed:
"I think Salman Khan can do my role in the biopic. He is a darling and has some habits like me. You all know Salman and his habits well. He has gone on me."
The Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani actor has often highlighted how he and Salman Khan have some common personality traits. Dharmendra has often shared his liking towards the Tiger 3 actor, apart from the topic of his biopic as well. Similarly, Salman also regards veteran actors as his ideal in the film industry.

In an episode of the infamous chat show, Koffee with Karan, Dharmendra's younger son, Bobby Deol, lovingly called 'Lord Bobby' by his fans, shared about his father's bond with Salman Khan. He revealed that Salman has always been there and loves his father. He added that the bond they share is amazing, and Salman has the highest regard for Dharmendra. Bobby was quoted saying:
"Salman has always been there. He is completely in love with my dad. The bond they share is just amazing. Salman has so much respect for my father. He has this obsessive love for my dad and my family."
Dharmendra is well known for his charm, stellar screen presence, confident attitude, and unapologetic personality. The actor has been an important part of the film industry and has given cinema fans some of the most iconic movies, such as Sholay, Chupke Chupke, Apne, Yamla Pagla Deewana, and many more. He was last seen in Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya alongside Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon. He will soon be seen in Desh Ke Gaddar and Ikkis.
