Ayesha Khan reveals that she faced trolling for her working during her periods statement

Recently, Ayesha was seen gracing the Women of India summit by Mojo Story. During the interaction at the event, Ayesha revealed that she faced trolling due to her 'worked during periods' statement. She mentioned that it was unfortunate that nowadays whatever a person does or says, everything becomes a joke. She highlighted how her statement about being on periods during the shooting of the Shararat song became a national joke. She added that it’s high time to educate men about periods. She was quoted as saying:

"It’s unfortunate that whatever you do or say these days, everything is a joke, dark humour, and fun. It’s a good thing that you can laugh about everything. But to laugh at anything and everything isn’t exactly fun. I probably didn’t even realise it because it’s so normal for me. Every month, we go through this cycle. We do so many things when we’re on our periods. Me being on periods had suddenly become a national joke. We really need to educate our sons and brothers. I’m sure the jokes were from men. It was really bad."

Ayesha Khan shares that she was not embarrassed by the 'period' comment

During the same conversation, Ayesha shared that she wasn’t embarrassed by the reactions for even a second. The Shararat girl mentioned that she felt proud of whatever she did during her periods. She also explained how women work even on periods. She was quoted as saying:

"I’m a proud woman. I was really, really proud of whatever I did while being on periods. You wouldn’t be able to do that without being on periods. I did that on my periods. I’m sure if there were 100 women in this room. There would be at least five or two women who’d be on periods right now. We just don’t realize because we don’t make a big deal about it. So, if we don’t make a big deal out of it, you can chill."

Ayesha Khan recalled how she felt overwhelmed during the shoot of song, Shararat, as she was on her periods

A few days ago, Ayesha Khan sat for an interview with Pinkvilla and recalled the time when she had to shoot for the song, Shararat. Ayesha revealed that she was on her periods at the time and had a hectic shooting schedule. She mentioned that after dancing for a long time, they felt so tired. Ayesha added that she was so overwhelmed, she burst into tears. She was quoted as saying:

"It was two days of shooting. It was so hectic, I was on my period during the shoot and you know you're not looking your best because you're bloated and you're not at your best. It was so much work for two days. Krystle and me had no time to look anywhere. We were so tired, our bones were aching after dancing so much. I was feeling so overwhelmed, and it was also because I was on my period and may be my emotions were hitting me too much. So, I just couldn't control and I cried. It was Khushi ke aansu."
