Hollywood has lost a shining star with the sudden passing of Diane Keaton, who died at the age of 79. The actress, known for her iconic performances in The Godfather, Reds, The First Wives Club, and more, was equally known for living her life on her own terms and her devotion to motherhood. Despite never tying the knot, Diane adopted two children, a daughter, Dexter, in 2001, and a son, Duke, in 2001, raising them as a single mother. However, they had one more addition to their family after her elder one tied the knot with Jordan White, her only son-in-law.
Diane Keaton's daughter, Dexter Keaton, 29, has largely remained away from the spotlight but remains one of the most important parts of the actress's life. She was born on December 15, 1995, and adopted by Diane in 1996. She grew up under the care of her loving mother in Los Angeles. In June 2019, she began dating racer, Jordan White, and after more than a year together, the couple got engaged in November 2020. Sharing her excitement on Instagram, Dexter wrote:
"This morning started with hail and ended with a diamond! I can't believe I'm engaged! I love you, Jordan."
Jordan White is a car racer by profession. He is a sponsored racer for So-Cal Nitrous and Race Fuels, following his departure from Irwindale Speedway and Irwindale Dragstrip. He married Dexter on June 12, 2021, in a beautiful ceremony attended by family and close friends. Diane Keaton, admired for her elegant style, opted for a cream pantsuit paired with her signature hat and white boots. According to her LinkedIn profile, Dexter has studied veterinary technology at Carrington College California-Pomona and continues to live a private life with her husband. The couple occasionally shares glimpses of their adventures from diving trips, family gatherings, and outings.
Diane's younger child, Duke Keaton, was born on February 8, 2000. She adopted him a year later in 2001. Now 25, Duke has also chosen to stay away from the limelight, unlike his mother's Hollywood fame. Initially, as a child, he was interested in photography and often accompanied his mother to public events. One memorable moment came when Duke captured photos of Kobe Bryant during a Lakers game in 2009 while sitting courtside with Diane. Over the years, his interest shifted to music, and Diane often shared heartfelt birthday tributes for her son on social media with bis childhood photos. Sharing her views on her children not following in her career path, she once told PEOPLE:
"They have no interest in what I do, which I think is very healthy. We live a relatively normal, well, sort of normal, life."
Diane Keaton had many close relationships and admirers, but she remained single. The actress once revealed that her mother's life had a profound influence on her choice. "I saw how much she gave up," Diane said in an interview. She did not want to give up on her independence like her mother. However, she was romantically linked to popular names such as Al Pacino, Warren Beatty, and Woody Allen throughout her career. Yet she remained fiercely self-reliant. In her later years, she admitted that she hadn't dated in decades but had lived her full life entirely on her own terms.
