Disha Vakani From Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah Celebrated Raksha Bandhan With Producer, Asit Modi

Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has been one of the most loved shows of Indian television. Based on Taarak Janubhai Mehta's Gujarati column, Duniya Ne Undha Chashma, TMKOC has garnered a lot of limelight over the years. One of the main characters of the show, 'Daya Jethalal Gada', played by actress, Disha Vakani gained instant limelight.

Disha Vakani reunites with Asit Modi on Raksha Bandhan

After taking a sabbatical from the show in 2017, Disha Vakani never returned, and her fans are eagerly waiting for her return. However, on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, Disha Vakani’s pictures on social media delighted her fans. Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’s producer, Asit Modi, took to his IG handle and posted a video of Disha tying a rakhi to Asit and his wife.

The video also showed Disha trying to touch Asit’s feet, while he stopped her and touched her feet instead. Apart from Disha, Asit and his wife, the video also featured Disha’s two daughters. Along with the video, Asit also penned a heartfelt note in which he mentioned that his relationship with Disha goes beyond screen. He also revealed how she has become his sister for years and prayed that their bond remains strong.

Fans react to Disha Vakani’s pictures

As soon as the video was shared by Asit, people started commenting on it, asking Asit to convince Disha to come back on screen as she is badly missed by her fans. One of the comments can be read as, “She looks so sweet as always, vapis ane ke liye bola ki nahi… just say her so many people miss her.” Another commented, “Missing her presence in new episodes and seeing her after a long time.”

Disha Vakani’s long break after the birth of her daughter

Disha Vakani tied the knot with the businessman, Mayur Padia, on November 24, 2015. The couple had an arranged marriage. In the year 2017, the duo welcomed a daughter, Stuti Padia. After which, the actress had taken maternity leave. Later, in 2022, Disha embraced motherhood with the arrival of her second child.

Ever since Disha Vakani took a maternity break, her fans have been eagerly waiting for her return to the show. There had been several reports suggesting Disha’s return, but nothing has been confirmed yet. It has been eight years now since she left the show, and we are waiting to see her back as 'Dayaben'.

Asit Modi talks about Disha Vakani’s return on Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah

In an interview with News 18 Showsha, Asit Modi discussed the absence of the iconic 'Dayaben' on Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. The producer also confirmed that she would not be able to return to the show for the time being. Revealing that Disha was busy mothering her two children, Asit said:

"I am still trying. I believe Disha Vakani can't be back. She has two children. She is like my sister. Even today, we have a very close relationship with her family. My sister Disha Vakani has tied a Rakhi to me. Her father and brother are also a family to me. You worked together for 17 years, and it became your extended family."
