Film producer, Boney Kapoor and legendary actress, Sridevi's love story was the talk of the town when it first started and remains so to this day. For the uninitiated, Sridevi was Boney's second wife, and the pair tied the knot in a simple temple wedding on June 2, 1996. It is no secret that the producer cheated on his first wife, Mona Shourie Kapoor and ended his marriage with her for Sridevi. However, his second marriage went on to last until Sridevi's passing on February 24, 2018. And it seems the producer is still unable to get over it, as he opened up about feeling like she was still around him.
Boney Kapoor recently sat for an interview with News18, during which he reminisced about his late wife, Sridevi and her health-conscious habits. He recounted how the actress constantly motivated him to lose weight and maintain a better diet. However, Boney could never commit to a routine the way Sridevi did. In his words:
"The seeds were sown by my wife. She was always after me to lose weight. She was a health-conscious person herself. I used to go for a walk with her. I used to go to the gym with her. She (Sridevi) was very clear on when she wants to eat, what she wants to eat. I tried my best to do that but I couldn’t."
It seems Sridevi's encouragement worked posthumously, as Boney revealed in the interview that he had lost approximately 13 kg in the past few months. The producer said he was in much better shape, having reduced his weight to 94-95 kg. However, he revealed that he had no intentions of slowing down. Boney plans on losing another 8-9 kg, as the ideal weight for his height would be around 87-88 kg.
Boney Kapoor stated that his late wife, Sridevi's constant motivation came flooding back when he saw himself in the film, Tu Jhooti Main Makkar. Despite the movie marking his acting debut, Boney confessed that he didn't like how he looked every time he appeared on screen. The film producer said:
"When I shot for Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, at that time, I didn't even lose weight. I was my original self. It was after the shooting that I decided (to lose weight) because whenever I washed myself on screen, I didn't like the way I was looking. Maybe I was playing the part which was asked for me to do. But I still felt that I was not looking the way I would want myself to come across on the screen. That's where the initial thought started."
An emotional Boney Kapoor ended the interview on a heartwarming note, stating that if his beloved wife, Sridevi had been alive today, she would undoubtedly be proud of his physical transformation. Revealing that he felt like 'Sri' was still around him and pushing him to do better, Boney said:

"I feel Sri is still around me, my wife is still around me and motivating me to lose weight. 'Lose weight', she said. Doctor also said the same thing – You should lose weight before you think of doing a transplant. Here I am, I've lost some weight and I've got some hair back for some."
