Grey's Anatomy actor, Eric Dane passed away at the age of 53. The actor's family confirmed the same to PEOPLE, through a statement that the actor passed away after his battle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease.
Through a statement, his family members revealed that the actor spent his last days being surrounded by his family, including his wife and two daughters. Talking about his two daughters, Eric once said that he never had a family, but with his two girls, he feels like being in a family. Today, we will look closely into the two kids of Eric Dane, Billie Beatrice Dane and Georgia Geraldine.

In 1972, Dane was born in San Francisco, and his father died when he was just 7 years old. His father was a Navy man who ended up being an interior designer, and as per the actor, his dad was a 'troubled soul'. It was not until he became a parent that Dane could understand how terrible it must feel for a child to lose his dad at such an age. Well, Dane found acting through an accident. He was playing water polo when he was selected for the role of 'Joe Keller' in All My Sons. Well, the actor fell in love with acting, and the rest is history.

Speaking of his personal life, he got married to Rebecca Gayheart in 2004. The duo met on the sets of Grey's Anatomy, and the slow-burning romance began there. Following this, Eric asked Rebecca if she would want to go out. She said 'yes', and 10 months later, they were married. Just like every other relationship, Eric Dane and Rebecca Gayheart had endured tough times in their relationship. Rebecca filed for divorce in 2018, and later dismissed the plea in 2025. Eric and Rebecca are parents to two daughters, Billie and Georgia. Speaking about his daughters, Eric, in an interview with PEOPLE, shared that he was a very lucky guy and he never actually had a family, which he had. He said:
"I feel like a very lucky guy. I never had a family, and now I do."

After trying for a long time, Eric Dane and Rebecca welcomed their elder daughter, Billie Beatrice Dane, in 2010. The couple confirmed the news in 2009, and in 2010, they welcomed a gorgeous daughter, whom they named Billie. The reason for naming his daughter Bille was that it was Eric's dad's name. The actor once revealed that they decided beforehand that they would name their first child Billie, whether a boy or a girl. Billie is also a proud daughter, and from watching his shows to accompanying him on the red carpets, although not often, she supported her father. There's no denying the fact that Eric's passing will take a toll on his kids.

Well, Billie is all grown up now, and she is a model and a dancer. Eric and Rebecca had been proud parents of their elder daughter, Billie and her achievements. While on an IG post, Billie's father gushed over her dance skills, her mother, Rebecca, congratulated her as she graduated from middle school in 2024. Speaking of her daughter's achievements and hard work, Billie's mom, Rebecca, said:
"I know you are more than ready for this next chapter. I have watched you juggle school, ballet and life with tenacity, grace and humor. You’re as beautiful inside as you are on the outside. I’m beyond proud of you Billie and love you 4ever and always."

Eric and Rebecca welcomed their second child, Georgia Geraldine, on December 28, 2011. During that time, the actress's reps confirmed to PEOPLE that the entire family was thrilled, as the couple became parents and their elder one became a sister. During Lockdown, Rebecca shared an IG post featuring Georgia, stating that it's only she who was thriving while staying at home.
Georgia once had a serious question for his dad. When she was watching Grey's Anatomy, she asked her dad where his abs went, and she was not at all joking, but rather she was serious, as shared by Eric, during an interview with Variety. To mention, Eric was a fabulous dad to his kids, and it's unimaginable how his demise will impact his kids.

Rebecca, back in November 2025, in an interview on the Broad Ideas podcast, revealed that as the actor was suffering from ALS, she told her kids that people need to show up for people, no matter what. To mention, during the time, the couple was separated, they were continuing to co-parent two of their kids. Well, the couple reconciled later. Sharing how she talked to her daughters about her husband, Eric's condition, Rebecca shared:
"He is our family. He is your father. We show up, and we try to do it with some dignity and some grace and just get through it."
