Karan Veer Mehra is one of the leading names in the television world. He began his career with the popular show Remix in 2005 and was later seen in shows like Pavitra Rishta, Rishton Ka Mela, Virrudh, Baatein Kuch Ankahee Si, and many others. Karanveer was also seen in movies like Ragini MMS 2, Mere Dad Ki Maruti, and Blood Money.
Apart from television and Bollywood, Karanveer Mehra has also appeared in several web series. The actor won the popular reality show Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 14. In addition to his professional life, Karanveer’s personal life has garnered a lot of attention. The Pavitra Rishta actor married twice, but both of his marriages fell apart. Karan met Devika in school. She was one popular girl. In fact, Karan was not the only guy who had a huge crush on her, but despite the tough competition, he won Devika’s heart. He said:
“We were together since school time -we were classmates. And, she was the most beautiful girl and popular - at least four-five guys in my class wanted to befriend her but, I got lucky! I think even she knew ki banda actor banega toh pakad lo isey (laughs). Jokes apart, she is the best person I have in my life and over the years, our love, understanding and friendship is just the same.”
With time, their friendship grew, and it later turned into love. And if you think that Karan might have planned a proposal for his long-time girlfriend, then no! There was no planned proposal, rather it was a spontaneous one, to which Devika happily said yes! Talking about his proposal, Karan said:
“It just happened! We'd been dating for almost 10 years and it was bound to happen sooner or later. We thought of a wedding in Goa but it would be tough to accommodate the date of our families there. Then on the eve of Valentine's Day that year, I was talking to an old friend who suggested I should just pop the question to Devika. I did just that and she said a yes!”
After that there was no holding back, the couple decided to take vows immediately which did shock both the families, but nevertheless they were super-excited with the nuptial. Their temple wedding was a hush-hush affair with a few relatives in attendance, but they did celebrate their new phase with a grand family dinner in a hotel! “Since we both stay pretty close to each other in Delhi, it was only a few close relatives that were present at the wedding. We celebrated our union by having a lavish family dinner at a five star hotel in the night. It was all so quick that neither of us even had the time to think. Our parents were shocked at our impulsiveness but happy nonetheless.”
However, the news of Karan and Devika’s impromptu marriage in 2009 did shock everyone, especially his female fans. Apparently, many people did not know about his ladylove, Devika, but Karan denied this fact, saying that he had never tried to hide his relationship. Talking further about the same, Karan said:
“Devika would always be by my side at public events and award functions — I never found the need to hide our relationship, so the question about my female fan following being shocked at my marriage doesn't arise.”
As years passed, Karan and Devika faced issues in their marriage, and in 2018, the couple got divorced. Neither Karan nor Devika revealed the reason behind their divorce. In 2019, Karan talked about his divorce and stated that the decision to get married was taken in haste, and so there were compatibility issues.
After his failed first marriage, Karan Veer Mehra found love again in the arms of television actress, Nidhi Seth. The couple tied the knot in 2021 in an anand karaj ceremony in the presence of his intimate family and friends.
As they say, some things are not meant to be. Within two years, Karan Veer Mehra and Nidhi Seth fell out of love and called it quits. The couple got divorced in 2023, and the actress called her marriage with Karan a big ‘mistake’. In an interview with ETimes, Nidhi shared that daily fights became a part of their marriage and made it toxic.
