Farah Khan Breaks Silence On Deepika Padukone Unfollowing Her On Instagram, 'We Don't Even Wish...'

Of late, there have been rumours of an alleged tension between filmmaker, Farah Khan and actress Deepika Padukone. The duo shares a great bond, and earlier reports were rife that after Farah made a comment on Deepika’s eight-hour work shift, she reportedly unfollowed her on Instagram. The reports further claimed that all is not well between the director and the actor's friendship.

In an interview with Pinkvilla, Farah Khan opened up about the rumours of her rift with Deepika. Revealing that she and Deepika never followed each other on Instagram and had made a pact about the same, Farah said:

“To begin with, we were not following each other earlier, too!! We had made a pact during the Happy New Year shoot that we wouldn’t communicate on Instagram, instead, direct message and call. We don’t even wish birthday wishes on Insta because Deepika doesn’t like it.”

Farah Khan reveals her 8-hour comment was not a dig at Deepika Padukone

In the same interview, Farah Khan also revealed that the eight-hour comment she made about her cook, Dilip, was not directed at Deepika and was meant for Dilip. In her words:

“Also, my 8 hour comment wasn’t a dig it was to make Dilip say that he will now also work 8 hours when he actually works just for 2 hours!”

Farah Khan and Deepika Padukone’s friendship dates back a long way. Farah was the one who gave Deepika her dream debut opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Om Shanti Om. During her conversation, the ace filmmaker also shared that she was one of the first people to visit Deepika when she delivered Dua. Talking a dig at social media, Farah said:

“No one even knows I was one of the first few people who went to see Deepika when Dua was born, not everything is done for Instagram and paps.”

How did the rumours of Farah Khan and Deepika Padukone’s fallout begin?

In one of her recent vlogs, Farah Khan visited Rohit Saraf's house with her cook, Dilip. Rohit revealed that his mother appeared on camera for the first time in Farah's vlog and that she had made them wait for a year. Farah joked that Deepika had also not taken that much time to say 'yes' to her film. Furthermore, Farah's cook, Dilip, inquired when Deepika would attend their show. The choreographer replied that the actress now shoots for only eight hours and doesn't have time to appear on their vlog.
