Farah Khan is counted among the acclaimed filmmakers in Bollywood. With films like Main Hoon Na, Om Shanti Om, and many others, Farah has carved out a name for herself in the industry. Just as her professional life has garnered attention, Farah’s personal life has also drawn attention. She married filmmaker Shirish Kunder, and they welcomed three kids, Diva, Anya, and Czar, via IVF.

Farah Khan and Shirish Kunder have an age gap of over nine years. Farah got married to Shirish when she was 40, while Shirish was 31. Farah has often spoken about the age difference with her husband. In an interaction with Soha Ali Khan on her YouTube channel, Farah recalled a funny incident when her husband was mistaken for her son. Speaking about the same, Farah shared:

“Once we had taken the kids on holiday, and I was literally overweight, a lady came. Shirish was there, and she said, ‘Can I clean your room? Can you ask your son (Shirish) to leave?’ And Shirish just laughed. He went and told the kids, ‘They thought I was your brother.’ So I realised that after 50, I have to look after myself, and it took me seven years to lose weight."

Farah Khan met Shirish Kunder during the making of Main Hoon Na in 2004. Shirish was the editor of her directorial debut film. Shirish confessed that he had always had a crush on Farah Khan, and this is the only reason why he agreed to edit Farah’s directorial debut, Main Hoon Na, at a much lower pay. Farah developed similar feelings much later. Soon, they started dating.

She also recalled how one of her friends taunted her for marrying a younger man and said that he would attend her second marriage. Speaking about the same, she said:

“One friend of mine when I was getting married someone asked him, 'Are you attending Farah's wedding?' He said, 'No. But I'll attend the second one. I thought that was quite b****y.”

Talking about Farah Khan’s professional journey, it was after ace choreographer, Saroj Khan walked out of the film, Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander, that Farah took over the role. She has won the Filmfare Award for Best Choreography six times. She made her Bollywood debut as a director with the film, Main Hoon Na in 2004. She also directed films such as Om Shanti OmTees Maar Khan, and Happy New Year.
