Gaurav Gupta is an avant-garde couturier who is considered as one of the biggest names in the Indian fashion industry. Paris Fashion Week 2025: Gaurav Gupta transforms his wife, Navkirat Sodhi's fire accident into 'Across the Fire' couture collection 

Gaurav Gupta couldn't feature in last year's Paris Fashion Week due to a severe personal tragedy. The ace fashion designer's atelier, located in Delhi, was destroyed due to a severe fire. Not only did he lose most of his valuable work, but most importantly, his wife, Navkirat Sodhi, was severely injured in the fire accident. A candle caused the fire accident, rapidly becoming an utterly uncontrollable mess. Unfortunately, while trying to extinguish the flames, Navkirat suffered huge burns.

Navkirat Sodhi was immediately taken to the hospital, and doctors told her husband, Gaurav Gupta, that his wife's 55 per cent body had been burnt. As per reports, Navkirat went through eight different surgeries during her medical treatment. It was a devastating moment for Gaurav and both the families because Navkirat had a survival chance of just 50 per cent. Due to life-threatening injuries, Navkirat Sodhi was treated in the ICU for the next 2.5 months. However, due to her determination and resilience, Navkirat succeeded in coming out of the near-death situation in the following months.

Fast forward to 2025, and Gaurav Gupta made his much-awaited comeback in style after the tragic fire accident. It's fair to say that the ace couturier didn't disappoint anyone but exceeded expectations. Gaurav introduced the 'Across the Fire' couture collection at the Paris Fashion Week 2025, leaving everyone stunned. Gaurav's wife, Navkirat Sodhi, served as the muse for his collection and walked on the ramp in a cream-hued draped corset gown. The gown featured scars on the legs and arms, symbolizing strength and vulnerability.

Reflecting on his comeback at the Paris Fashion Week 2025 after such a huge tragedy, Gaurav Gupta shared that he and his wife, Navkirat Sodhi, embarked on a spiritual journey. He also added that his couture collection titled 'Across the Fire' is also a part of their healing journey. The way Gaurav has transformed the fire accident into his designs is surreal and a pure testament to his transformative art. Opening up about the same in an interview with the Vogue Runaway, the Delhi-based fashion designer said:

"We came back from the other side. This show is a part of our healing."
