Actor and filmmaker, George Clooney, who was once the most eligible bachelor in Hollywood, found his soulmate in Amal Alamuddin (now Clooney), who is a human rights lawyer. Their relationship started in 2013, and in the past 12 years, they have only deepened their bond. From first meeting to marriage and then embracing parenthood, George and Amal are straight up couple goals.
Despite their fame and media attention, George and Amal have managed to keep their personal life private and extremely grounded. They quietly built a family by welcoming twins in 2017. The couple has also co-founded the Clooney Foundation for Justice. After so many years also, it looks like they have just fallen in love with each other.
The fairytale love story of George and Amal began in July 2013, when George met Amal through a common friend. They first met in Italy, when George's parents were there and one of his friends asked him if he could bring another friend along. Interestingly, one of George's agents predicted the future and told George that 'you will marry this unexpected guest someday.' When the duo met, they felt an instant connection with each other.
The same evening, the duo had shared their email addresses with each other so that they could share the photos they took. But, gradually, they started talking to each other on a regular basis and soon their friendship took a romantic turn. Later, after months of talking on email, in October 2013, the couple planned to meet for their first date.
The first date happened, when George had invited Amal to visit Abbey Road Studios in London and then later, they headed out to dinner. In an interview with People, George had shared that when he and Amal came out after their dinner, they saw almost 50 paparazzi waiting for them, but Amal handled all of them.

Slowly and gradually, the connection between Amal and George grew stronger. In April 2014, George invited Amal for a sweet dinner at his house, where he even prepared a playlist of songs by his late aunt, Rosemary Clooney. He even hid the ring as he wanted her to find it. He shared in an interview with People:
"I did all the stuff, got down on my knees and did all the things you're supposed to do. I had a playlist with my Rosemary [Clooney] songs on it, and I was waiting for this song, 'Why Shouldn't I?' … And it played, and she's like, 'Holy shit!' And she just kept staring at the ring, going, 'Oh, my God.' It was 20 minutes of me on my knee, waiting for her to say yes, because she was so shocked. She only said yes when 'Goody, Goody' came on, which isn't very romantic — it's kind of mean: 'So you met someone who set you back on your heels, goody, goody."
On 27 September, 2014, George and Amal tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony in Venice, Italy. In their lavish wedding, Amal chose to wear a stunning Oscar de la Renta gown, while George looked charming as ever in a Giorgio Armani tuxedo. The couple even shared an interesting detail that they planned to keep their wedding private and intimate, but somehow the media got to know and then it became an event.
Since their lavish wedding, George and Amal have grown a lot personally and professionally. They even made their debut at the red carpet, attended the Met Gala and together, they even launched the Clooney Foundation of Justice, through which they promote human rights globally.
On June 6, 2017, Amal gave birth to twins- their son, Alexander and daughter, Ella. The duo confirmed the good news. Later, in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, George shared his exact feelings during the ultrasound, when they got to know about having twins. He shared:
"He goes, 'Well, there's one.' And I said, 'Great.' And then he goes, 'And there's the second one.' And I was like, 'What?' We just sat there, staring at that piece of paper they give you, and I kept thinking there was a mistake."
After giving birth to twins, the couple made their first grand appearance at the red carpet at the Venice Film Festival. In multiple interviews, George shared his insights about his happy married life with Amal. He shared that Amal changed her mindset completely. In 2018, the couple even attended Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding. In 2020, George gave an interview to People and shared that the pandemic tested a lot of relationships, but for him, it was easy. In his words:
"I feel very lucky in so many ways to have met her. We haven't ever had an argument. You know, everybody's been slammed together because of the coronavirus and a lot of friends' relationships have been tested. For us, it's been really easy."
