Govinda's Sister, Kamini Khanna Opens Up On His Divorce Rumours With Sunita, 'They Are Very Busy...'

Govinda owned the 90s with his back-to-back memorable performances. His versatile acting skills, effortless dance moves and impeccable comic timing in the like movies Aankhen, Raja Babu, Coolie No.1, Hero No.1 and more helped him make a way into people's hearts. Although he is not actively seen in movies now, the star is grabbing headlines after reports about trouble in his marriage were leaked to the world. Amid other known ones of the couple, recently Govinda's sister, Kamini Khanna, shared her reaction to this speculation. 

Govinda's sister, Kamini Khanna, reacts to rumours about his divorce 

Govinda is among the few actors who had a successful marriage lasting for more than 2 decades. Consequently, the news about his separation from his wife after 37 years of marriage has stunned everyone. The superstar's sister, Kamini Khanna, recently sat down for an interview with IANS and shared her reaction to the speculation. She admitted that she is aware of the news and rumours floating on social media and said:

"I don't know much. I stay very busy, and they are very busy too."

She continued to explain that she meets her brother and sister-in-law rarely. Consequently, she isn't aware of what goes into their lives. At the same time, since their families are involved in the matter, she won't reveal much. Kamini added that her bond with Govinda is deeply rooted in support and friendship because their parents aren't with them. So, they both try to be like parents and friends to each other. Urging for privacy, she requested everyone to respect the couple's choices and let them handle it privately.  In her words: 

"We meet very rarely, so I don't know much. I don't want to say too much on this topic because both families are involved, and I have a lot of love for both."

Sunita Ahuja reveals why she lives separately from Govinda 

When the news about Govinda and Sunita Ahuja's divorce went viral, their lawyer and manager confirmed they had troubles but highlighted that they managed to solve it. Later, the Dulhe Raja actor also refused to comment on it. Amid this, Sunita's video went viral, and she clarified why she lives separately from her husband. As per TOI, she explained: 

“Alag alag rehte matlab jab unhone politics join kiya tha tab meri beti jawan ho rahi thi, to saare kaaryakarta ghar pe aate the, toh ab jawan beti hai hum hain, hum shorts pehen kar ghoomte hain, to isliye humne samne hi ek office le liya tha.”

Govinda and Sunita's love story 

Govinda and Sunita met during a family marriage when she was just 15. Initially, they quarrelled but gradually fell in love and tied the knot a couple of years later, on March 11, 1987. The actor didn't reveal his marriage in public to secure his female fanbase until the couple welcomed their daughter, Tina Ahuja, in 1989. They again welcomed a son, Yashvardhan, in 1997. Govinda regretted keeping his marriage a secret for years and tied the knot with Sunita again on their 25th wedding anniversary.
