As soon as the clip was shared on social media, netizens pointed out the character as Sameer Wankhede. Many pointed out Aryan’s subtle dig at the former zonal director of the Narcotics Control Bureau, who arrested Aryan on suspicion of drug abuse and possession.

In another episode, Karan Johar calls himself the ‘movie mafia’, a title given to him by none other than Kangana Ranaut when she appeared on his show, Koffee With Karan. In the particular scene, Karan warns the hero of the show, ‘Aasman Singh’, to ‘not mess with the movie mafia’.
