The rise of the internet gave many job opportunities to people of all ages, especially girls, who became influencers, bloggers and vloggers. However, the public life of the influencers often leaves many in their family and friends uncomfortable, who are not very socialable. Amidst the hullabaloo, influencer and content creator, Himadri Patel revealed how her rishta proposals got rejected due to her profession.
Famous content creator, Himadri Patel, revealed her honest experience of dating in her late twenties, and how men have been rejecting her proposals due to her profession. A part of her YouTube video was posted by a netizen on Reddit, wherein Himadri confessed that many men rejected her. She was quoted as saying:
"Jo ladke pasand aa rahe the, sabne mujhe reject kar diya. Mere profession ko leke mujhe mana kiya that 'you know like apki life bahut fast hai you have a very public life'. I really respect all those guys jinhone mujhe reject kra, I am sad kyunki jinhone mujhe reject vo ladke mujhe genuinely sahi lage the. But they rejected me as they won't be cope up to my life."
Soon, netizens flooded the comments section with their opinions. One user wrote, "Reasons why I wouldn't date an influencer. No privacy. Most of the celebs or influencers have this narcissism in them that they are the best in Looks- so many ppl want to be like them and be with them. It will increase my insecurity a lil." A second one commented, "Too much drama to handle the I want to be in the limelight always gets a little bit nauseous. Not to mention everything is a content."
A third person pointed, "I’ve dated a few influencers some before they blew up, some after and the difference is huge. Before fame, they were grounded, engaged, and easy to be with. After fame, the dynamic changes completely. My ex had 70k followers, and even that mid-tier level was exhausting. She was used to constant praise and validation online, so anything less from a partner felt like a drop in the ocean. Everyone around her catered to her, and if we had a disagreement, I wasn’t just her boyfriend I was the lone ‘bad guy’ against thousands of fans ready to take her side. That kind of attention builds a ‘star-level’ ego where accountability fades and healthy conflict becomes nearly impossible. It’s not about influencers being bad people — it’s about the environment they live in. When you’re rewarded for being adored 24/7, a normal relationship can feel dull by comparison. That’s probably the nicest reason I can give for not dating an influencer."
A fourth user wrote, "Most people want a private personal life & with influencers the boundaries of privacy and personal space gets blurry. You wouldn't want the additional pressure of fans shipping you with their "queen", "mother". And if things don't work out, those very fans would be bullying you relentlessly, speculating your character.Too much drama, not worth it."
