Jacob Elordi Reveals His Unrecognisable Frankenstein Look And Discusses His 10-Hour Transformation

Guillermo del Toro is building a new monster. After winning Oscars for Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio, the writer-director is fulfilling a long-awaited dream of Mary Shelley’s beloved Gothic novel, Frankenstein. The film is now streaming in theaters and will be available on Netflix on November 7, 2025. The film features Euphoria actor Jacob Elordi as 'The Creature.' Trailers and an official poster for the film had previously offered only glimpses of the dramatic transformation that renders Elordi unrecognizable.

Jacob Elorid is Frankenstein’s ‘hot’ creature

The Mexican filmmaker Guillermo del Toro calls forth Frankenstein's monster once more. However, he is not green-skinned like he was when he first came into the public eye in Mary Shelley's Gothic science-fiction novel. This time, the creature has a makeover, and people can’t stop talking about it. The character portrayed by Hollywood hottie, Jacob Elordi has a perfect face and a look that's sort of attractive, despite his unsutured scars.  According to Shelley, humanity abandoned the creature because of its "physical deformity."

Elordi, in conversation with Variety, talked about transforming into the famous character, a process that took 10 hours of makeup. “I didn’t do breakfast, lunch or dinner, or think in terms of morning, afternoon, or night. It was just one time,” Jacob said. Director Del Toro also praised his actor, Jacob, and said he used to arrive on set at 10 P.M. the night before to begin the process. “Never once did he come to me and complain,” del Toro said:

“Never once did he come to me and say, ‘I’m tired. I’m hungry. Can I go?’ And he put in 20-hour days.”
