In a recent interview with Times of India TV, Jiya Shankar shared that she had kept her relationship private, but when the rumours started spreading, she decided to make it official. She mentioned that she felt tired of the rumours surrounding her personal life. She highlighted that by revealing that she was not single, she wanted to put an end to all the rumours. She added that she would reveal her partner’s identity when they got engaged. She was quoted as saying:

"I had kept it very private. But when the rumours started spreading, I felt enough was enough because I was tired of it. Every other day, my name was being linked with someone new. So I decided I didn't want that anymore and wanted to distance myself from all of it. That's when I thought I should at least make it clear that I'm no longer single and put an end to these rumours involving different people. That was the only reason I spoke about it. Otherwise, I would have preferred to keep it private for some time. I plan to reveal my partner's identity only when I get engaged."

In the same interview, Jiya was asked about her parents’ reaction to her and Elvish Yadav’s engagement rumour. For the uninitiated, on February 5, 2026, Elvish shared a snap tagging Jiya in the post. The picture sparked engagement rumours as in the snap, Jiya was seen sporting a diamond ring. In response, Jiya shared that her family was quite used to her link-up rumours. She mentioned that nothing unusual happened in her home, as her parents knew who she was dating. She was quoted as saying:

"There have been link-up rumours about me. I think my family is quite used to such things by now. Also, my family knows very well who I'm dating and with whom there's a possibility of getting engaged. So nothing unusual really happened in my house. Also, that story wasn't even up for 24 hours, and the promo came out almost immediately after. So honestly, it didn't make much of a difference."

At the end of 2025, Jiya took to her Instagram handle and shared an adorable picture with a mystery man. In the snap, the man was seen giving the actress a peck on the forehead, and she tactfully hid his face with a red-heart emoticon. Soon after the picture surfaced online, fans began predicting who the mystery man might be. Some users guessed that the man might be Abhishek Malhan a.k.a Fukra Insaan. However, Jiya’s team issued a statement on social media about the following. They wrote:

She is content, secure, and grateful for the love she receives, while choosing to share only what aligns with her values.
