Juhi Babbar Reveals Why The Babbar Family Was Not Invited To Prateik's Wedding, 'Humare Papa...'

Actor Prateik Babbar gave love another chance and tied the knot with actress, Priya Banerjee on February 14, 2025, in an intimate ceremony. The ceremony took place at Prateik's mother and late actress, Smita Patil's home. However, Prateik Babbar’s wedding with Priya began a new controversy as the actor chose not to invite his father, Raj Babbar, step-brother, Arya Babbar and step-sister, Juhi Babbar.

Juhi Babbar revealed that a few people have influenced Prateik Babbar

Now, in the latest interview with the Times of India, Juhi Babbar spoke about Prateik’s intimate wedding and revealed why the Babbar family was not invited. Juhi revealed that certain people were distancing Prateik from his family and revealed:

“Right now, he is surrounded by a few people — whom we don’t wish to name — who have influenced him. But we don’t want to sandwich him in the middle because that won’t help anyone. When I say sandwich, it doesn’t mean Prateik is caught between Priya and us — absolutely not. Priya is a wonderful girl, and he is extremely fortunate to have found a partner who truly loves and understands him. The real sandwiching is happening because of someone else — someone desperate for publicity and importance.”

In the same conversation, Juhi also spoke about Aarya Babbar’s statement that none of them were invited. Taking Aarya’s side, Juhi revealed that everyone in the family is hurt and has the right to express their emotions. Juhi also shared that no matter what, Prateik will always be dear to her and the family, stating that "hum ek hi baap ki aulaad hain."

Juhi Babbar reveals the family has no animosity towards Prateik Babbar

Going further in the interview, Juhi revealed that despite not getting an invitation, there is no animosity, and they do not wish to put Prateik under any pressure. In her words:

“Shaadi-byah mein har parivaar mein baatein hoti hain. His first wedding was a grand affair for us, hum khoob naache thay, and when his marriage ended, hamare papa uske saath khade thay and helped him through it. There is no issue from our side.”

For the wedding, Prateik Babbar and Priya Banerjee chose to wear custom wedding outfits designed by Tarun Tahiliani. Prateik wore a silk drape shirt paired with a pre-stitched charmeuse dhoti and a pleated kamarband. His sherwani jacket was adorned with hand-embroidered chikankari design and French knots. On the other hand, Priya looked gorgeous in a resham-embroidered fishtail skirt embellished with crystals, sequins, pearls, beads and a structured corset. The actress tied her hair back in a bun and kept her makeup simple with a few pieces of jewellery to complete her look.
