Hollywood is mourning the loss of another legend after the passing of Diane Keaton and June Lockhart. She was a highly admired actress who made a special place in the hearts of fans with her heartfelt roles in Lassie and Lost in Space. The veteran actress passed away at the age of 100 at her home in Santa Monica, California. According to The New York Times, the news about her demise was confirmed by her official spokesperson, Harlan Boll, who revealed that her daughter, Elizabeth and granddaughter, Christianna, were by her side. 

Who was June Lockhart's husband? 

June Lockhart became a household name for playing some iconic maternal TV characters who lived simple lives surrounded by their families. The actress first tied the knot with Dr John F. Maloney in 1951, and they became parents to two daughters, Anne Kathleen Lockhart and June Elizabeth Lockhart. Reportedly, he was a physician and a former Navy physician. However, the duo's marriage fell through in 1959, but the exact cause of the separation remains unknown.

In the same year, she married an architect, John Lindsay. But after spending nearly a decade together, their marriage ended in a divorce in 1970. After her second marriage hit a rough patch, the actress chose not to remarry and instead remained single for the rest of her life. Her daughters followed in her footsteps with a small stint in acting. Her elder daughter, Anne Lockhart, became known for her work in Battlestar Galactica and Chicago Fire. She continues to work and remains active in theatre as a performer and director. Her younger daughter, June Elizabeth, opted for a more private life but stayed close to her mother. Lockhart was also a proud grandmother to Christianna, who remained by her side in her final days.

How did June Lockhart die? 

June Lockhart's death came after years of maintaining a quiet, peaceful life away from the spotlight. She reportedly passed away due to natural causes at the age of 100. In one of his recent interviews, Lost in Space co-star Bill Mumy shared a touching update about Lockhart's later years. He revealed that he talked to her daughter occasionally, and June was mostly at home. Addditionally, she had two assistants while she was accustomed to follow the news,  politics and other matters. But June would not talk on the phone. Despite her advanced age, she remained mentally active and well-informed throughout her life.

John Lockhart was born in Manhattan, New York City. She was the daughter of actors, Gene Lockhart and Kathleen Lockhart, who began performing at the age of eight in a Metropolitan Opera production. She made her film debut at 13 in A Christmas Carol in 1938 and went on to win acclaim for her Broadway debut in For Love or Money in 1947, which earned her both a Tony Award and a Theatre World Award. Over the years, June found immense fame on TV with Lassie, Lost in Space, The Full House, Grey's Anatomy, and 7th Heaven, among others.
