Karisma Kapoor's Kids Make Massive Charges Against Priya Kapur Over Estate Battle, 'Nothing Left...'

Karisma Kapoor's ex-husband, Sunjay Kapur, passed away back on June 12, 2025, after he swallowed a bee, which led to an allergic reaction in his body, ultimately leading to a heart attack. After his death, several legal battles have been going on in his family, which involved his third wife, Priya Sunjay Kapur, and his ex-wife, Karisma and their kids, Kiaan and Samaira. The clash has been intensifying each passing day, and yet the same scenario repeated itself as a hearing from the Delhi High Court took place over a plea by Priya Sunjay Kapur.

Karisma Kapoor's kids make massive charges against their late father, Sunjay Kapur's estate battle

Priya Sunjay Kapur filed a petition with the court to disclose the details of her late husband's estate in a sealed envelope, and the hearing took place. After which, an argument ensued over a plea, wherein the counsel for Kiaan and Samaira claimed that nothing was left, and even the banks had been wiped out. For the uninitiated, Kiaan and Samaira requested one-fifth of their late father's estate. They also mentioned that their father never mentioned the will, which Priya claimed, and the current will was never registered. As per a LiveLaw report, the counsel from Karisma's side argued:

"Banks have been wiped off, there is nothing left in the bank account."

In response to Priya's plea, the Delhi High Court mentioned that accepting the same would be problematic, since as the alleged beneficiary of the estate Karisma and her kids, Kiaan and Samaira, have the right to question the assets that had been disclosed, and they have the right to verify and ask question, without which they will not be able to defend. As per Justice Jyoti Singh:

"Problematic for the simple reason that as the alleged beneficiary of the estate, they [Karisma Kapoor’s children] have a right to question the assets disclosed…so, tomorrow if they have to verify and go about asking what has happened, if they are bound with this confidentiality club, how will they ever defend their case."

From Priya's side, the counsel added that it was a matter of security, as there are bank details and other financial information; thus, it's not understandable why the bank account number should be made public. Earlier, Priya's side claimed that Kiaan and Samaira were not given anything, while they were provided with Rs. 1,900 crore just days before they came forward with a lawsuit. Priya's side also claimed that there was no sign of Karisma and her kids in their lives for all these years, and now they suddenly appeared, while she is a widow with a six-year-old kid.

The beginning of Sunjay Kapur's estate battle

A month after Sunjay Kapur passed away, his mom, Rani Kapur, raised suspicion about his death, claiming that even after asking for the exact reason that took her son's life. She also added that she was blocked from all her accounts and was living off mercy. Rani Kapur also claimed that she had to sign documents behind closed doors after her son's death, and after asking about the contents of the papers, she was denied any kind of clarification. Following this, things got intensified as Priya was selected as the non-executive director of Sona Comstar. She also changed her name to Priya Sunjay Kapur, and after a few days of the same, Kiaan and Samaira filed a lawsuit against Priya.
