The actress has been the heart of Mack family and the pride of her fans, her gorgeous smile, lightening up every room she walked into. However, due to an unfortunate illness, she passed away at the young age of 33.

Kelley Mack is a film producer and actress who appeared in The Walking Dead. She was diagnosed with a rare type of brain cancer, which caused her demise on August 2, 2025. However, it was on August 5, 2025, when the actress's agent, Julie Smith, confirmed the news. According to a report by USA TODAY, Kelley was suffering from a rare glioma of the central nervous system and took her last breath in her hometown of Cincinnati.

Kelley Mack's sister, Kathryn Klebenow, confirmed the demise of the actress on her Instagram

Kelley Mack's sister, Kathryn Klebenow, shared the news of her unfortunate demise on her Instagram handle. She shared a note which confirmed that the actress passed away on Saturday, August 2, 2025, in the presence of her mother, Kristen and aunt, Karen. Kathryn added that Kelley was extremely brave, especially when she decided to take the leap and reunite with the almighty. She was quoted as saying:

"It is with indelible sadness that we are announcing the passing of our dear Kelley. Such a bright, fervent light has transitioned to the beyond, where we all eventually must go. Kelley passed peacefully on Saturday evening with her loving mother Kristen and steadfast aunt Karen present. Kelley has already come to many of her loved ones in the form of various butterflies. She will be deeply missed by so many that words cannot express."

Kelley Mack's family announces a remembrance meet and a celebration of life

It was in April 2025 when Kelley Mack's family shared that the actress had completed proton radiation treatment. The Mack Family shared a statement about the actress's passing on Mack's CaringBridge page, along with information about 'a recognition and remembrance of Kelley's life' in Glendale, Ohio, on August 16, 2025. They further shared that a celebration of life is planned for an unspecified date in Los Angeles.

What is a glioma of the central nervous system?

According to the Cleveland Clinic, a glioma is a tumour that forms when glial cells grow out of control. For the unversed, glial cells, also known as neuroglia, are non-neuronal cells in the nervous system that provide support and protection to neurons. In layman's terms, they can be referred to as the 'glue' of neurons. Normally, these cells support nerves and help your central nervous system work. Gliomas usually grow in the brain, but can also form in the spinal cord. The website further explained about the glioma of the central nervous system and stated:
