The actor was last seen in the television series, Queen of Tears, which premiered in 2024. However, in the year 2025, Kim Soo-Hyun is leading all the headlines, and it is due to his personal life.

For the uninitiated, on February 16, 2025, Kim Sae-Ron was found dead inside her home. With 3.7 million followers on her Instagram handle, Kim Sae-Ron was renowned for her work in A Brand New Life, The Man From Nowhere, Barbie, The Neighbour, The Queen's Classroom, Snowy Road, Secret Healer, The Great Shaman Ga Doo-shim, A Girl at My Door, and Hi! School Love.

According to an official statement by the Seoul Police, Kim Sae-Ron committed suicide, and no foul play was registered in her case. However, moments after the news of her demise broke down in news headlines, Kim Soo-Hyun's name started to be linked with her suicide. The actress committed suicide on February 16, which is Kim Soo-Hyun's date of birth. Reports were rife that the couple was dating, and when the actress ended her life on his rumoured boyfriend's birthday, people started joining the dots and labelled it as a "tragic coincidence". 

Several dark theories have emerged on the internet since Kim Sae-Ron's death featuring her alleged boyfriend, Kim Soo-Hyun. According to a report in OTTPlay.com, the actress committed suicide on her rumoured beau's birthday so that his special day would haunt him for the rest of his life. These theories have no substance, but still, many people believe in them and speculate about them on social media.

Now that Garosero Research Institute has published this picture online, Kim Soo-Hyun is receiving a lot of backlash from Kim Sae-Ron's massive fanbase.

Amidst all the buzz around Kim Sae-Ron and Kim Soo-Hyun's viral picture, an alleged text from the late actress to the actor has made its way online. According to the aunt of the late actress, Kim Soo-Hyun's management company compensated for Kim Sae-Ron's DUI incident. However, after just one year, Kim Soo-Hyun's management company demanded 13.7 million USD in penalty. The actress was reportedly hit by a lawsuit in 2024, after which she reportedly sent a message to Kim Soo-Hyun in which she begged him to save her from the hefty lawsuit. An excerpt from her painful text message to her alleged beau, Kim Soo-Hyun, can be read as:

"Oppa, this is Sae Ron. I received the letter of certification today that [your company] is suing me. Do you really have to take it as far as a lawsuit? Please save me… I beg of you. Give me some time."

Kim Sae-Ron's heartbreaking text is making rounds all over social media, and people are now furious with Kim Soo-Hyun. From cursing him online, a large section of people is set to boycott his films and shows. A user commented, "His career is over; he better have enough money to last himself because all his endorsements are going to be cancelled and any upcoming dramas." It will be interesting to see how Kim Soo-Hyun will get out of this controversial scene because it has now started affecting his career in a huge way.
