Disha Salian became a household name in very little time, courtesy of her unfortunate and rather mysterious death after falling off from the balcony of her building. A hardcore celebrity manager by profession, Disha’s death was not taken calmly by the nation, as most of them suspected foul play and immediately unleashed countless controversial theories.
For the unversed, Disha Salian happened to be the celebrity manager of many popular celebrities, especially of the late actor, Sushant Singh Rajput. On the night of November 8, 2020, Disha died after reportedly falling off the balcony of her building on the 12th floor. This incident instantly brought her fiancé, Rohan Rai to the limelight as people began to hold him responsible for the tragedy.

While all these accusations were thoroughly baseless, it still made its impact on Rohan, who quit social media and evaded public eye completely. However, it is after two years, that Rohan has come out and spoken about those fatal times. Speaking about the mental trauma he had suffered, he said:
“Back then, I would frequently have anxiety attacks. Disha and I were together for seven years. We lived at her parents’ home in Dadar and had a roka ceremony in 2018. After what happened, it was difficult for me to sleep, but waking up was tougher as everything felt like a bad dream. A lot of people told me that I need to look for an alternative career following the social media backlash”.
Further in the interview, he mentioned that it was not just the hate he received from thousands of people which bothered him. It was, in fact, the threats, nasty comments and abuses that made his life totally upside down. Calling it, terrifying he said:
“It was terrifying. I would receive thousands of nasty messages, threats, and abuses. My friends also received many crude messages, and they would cry on the phone. I felt helpless and deactivated all my social media handles in September 2020. I re-joined only in May last year”.

While Rohan himself grieved deeply for his fiancé Disha, it became even worse as the entire mishap had taken a toll on his career as an actor. While coping with those days had been indeed difficult, Rohan also shared how the situation improved with better clarity of the case. In his words:
“A show on a streaming platform slipped out of my hands and I couldn’t fathom the reason. I didn’t have the courage to ask them either. But when I was dropped from a film, I was shattered and cried. You can’t take away everything from me. Every producer would ask me if I was facing any legal hassle and seek a written undertaking. I then decided to take a year-long break from acting. I have started to work on myself and I am grateful that things have started to fall into place again. I have done a few ad campaigns and have restarted script writing. I have also set up an animal welfare trust along with Disha’s mom”.
We wish Rohan gets justice and finds peace in his life.
