The couple had been dating for almost 6 years before calling it splits. Adored by fans, the couple had also faced ample criticism for their age gap and unorthodox relationship choices. Less than a month later, Malaika gave us a coy relationship update. Taking to her Instagram stories, Malaika re-shared a post on relationships. This post from Malaika Arora comes less than a month after Arjun Kapoor spoke about his relationship status. In October 2024, Arjun attended a Diwali party hosted by politician Raj Thackeray at Mumbai's Shivaji Park. Upon his arrival at the event, the crowd was screaming Malaika's name, to which he responded by sharing that he is single now. Addressing a person behind him, the actor continued and said that he thought they were talking about marriage, that's why he asked them to relax. He was quoted as:
"Nahi abhi single hoon. Relax, karo. Inhone 'tall aur handsome' bola, aesa lagraha hai ki shaadi ki baat karrahe hai. Isliye maine bola relax karo pehle."
A source close to the couple shared with Pinkvilla that Malaika Arora and Arjun Kapoor had a very special relationship and continue to share a special place in each other's hearts. They added that the duo chose to part ways and stay silent on the matter as they didn't want anyone to dissect or disrespect what they shared. Arjun was last seen with Malaika at the latter's stepfather, Amit Mehta's funeral.
