Manoj Bajpayee made one of the most inspiring journeys to fame in Bollywood. The actor comes from a humble background, as his father was a farmer. Given his passion for acting, he went on to study drama and made his debut in the film, Droh Kaal. Since then, the Veer-Zaara actor hasn't looked back, but his impressive performances have soared to new heights in showbiz. Manoj has always been candid about his opinion towards the industry and recently talked about the increasing entourage costs in Bollywood.
After constant failures of big-budget films at the box office, producers like Karan Johar, Farah Khan, and Anurag Kashyap criticised the rising fees and entourage costs of stars. It started a new debate in Bollywood. Recently, Manoj Bajpayee, who turned producer with his film, Bhaiyya Ji, shared his opinion. The actor said that those filmmakers had a contradictory stance as they initially 'pampered' stars and later complained about their 'high fees.' He was quoted by ETimes as saying:
"But who is giving them the money? Who has been giving them the money? There is a contradiction when people, who have been pampering the stars and riding on their shoulders, are saying that the stars should reduce their fees!"

Manoj added that big stars are the face of the film, and filmmakers sign them due to their ability to bring better box office collections. So, if the star asks for some better facilities, it's not wrong unless it's too much. He said:
"The stars are the face of the film. Everyone who signs a star, is riding on his shoulder. If the stars are asking for some facilities, I don't think there is anything wrong, as long as it is not insane! Most of these stars sign a film with a reduced fee and a large chunk of profit sharing."
In another interview with News18, Manoj mentioned that if a producer wants to use a star's popularity but can't pay a higher price, they should negotiate privately. He said that complaining about in the public domain would not help them. In his words:
"Films are made within the budget provided by the star's market value. If you want to use the star's appeal but keep the budget low, you need to negotiate directly with the star. Public complaints won't solve the problem. Only a private discussion will help you find a compromise."
