Sandra Thomas has been the face of the headlines lately. She made several claims of rampant d**g use in the Malayalam film industry. She alleged that substance use was so normalised on the film sets that separate rooms and dedicated budgets were being allocated for them in the industry.
Amid that, the intrigue among netizens has spiked to know who the face of these revelations, Sandra Thomas, really is. Sandra Thomas is best known as an actress and producer who has predominantly worked in the Malayalam film industry. Hence, she knows everything that goes on behind the scenes. The actress made her acting debut in 1991 with Nettippattam. However, she rose to fame for her roles in Amen and Zachariayude Garbhinikal. Sandra began her production journey in 2012 with what was called the 'crux' of her career, Friday. The film was the first project she produced under her banner, Friday Film House, along with actor, Vijay Babu.
Sandra Thomas and Vijay Babu produced several projects under the banner of Friday Film House and even won a Special Jury Award for their 2014 production, Philips and the Monkey Pen. Their co-partner bliss was short-lived, and in 2017, after a lengthy quarrel, Sandra filed a lawsuit against Vijay Babu. However, later both deemed that it was a misunderstanding, but Sandra left the production house and started her own independent company, Sandra Thomas Productions.
Sandra Thomas has been extremely vocal about the challenges and discrimination faced by women in the film industry. It was 2024 when she was expelled from the Kerela Film Producers Association over alleged misconduct, which she claimed was part of a targeted campaign by the 'power groups' within the industry. She stated that her expulsion aimed to suppress her efforts to highlight issues like sexual harassment and gender-based exclusion in the Malayalam film industry. Sandra even wrote an open letter to the KFPA highlighting her concerns regarding the mistreatment of women in the industry. As a result, the court had put a stay on her dismissal from the KFPA.

Sandra Thomas faced another controversy in 2024, surrounding one of her production projects, Little Hearts. The film starring Shane Nigam, faced distribution challenges. This led Sandra to accuse the Film Exhibitors United Organisation of Kerala (FEOUK) of allegedly mishandling the film's release. She claimed that these delays had caused the team significant financial losses, lack of proper promotion and limited screenings were deliberate. However, there are still no conclusive reports on the matter.
Sandra Thomas married businessman, Wilson John Thomas in July 2016 in a private ceremony. They later had a reception in Nilambur, followed by a grand reception in Kochi. According to reports, Wilson owns an event management company. The duo welcomed twin daughters, Katlyn and Kendal in April 2018. Sandra often shares moments from her family life on social media, and she has expressed interest in creating content featuring her daughters, aiming to convey messages about nature and environmental care.
