Mira Kapoor talked for the first time about her life after marriage to Shahid Kapoor when she moved cities to restart her life with him. The star wife-turned-entrepreneur revealed that she felt a little lonely as all her friends were moving on to another chapter of their lives, and there were days when she wasn't even able to talk to them.
Mira Kapoor, recently appeared on the podcast, Moments Of Silence, hosted by Naina Bhan and Sakshi Shivdasani. Mira talked about her life so far in Mumbai and also opened up about life behind the 'fairy tale' of moving cities after getting married to Shahid at just the age of 20. Mira shared that she felt isolated and a little lonely. Elaborating on the same, Mira said:
"It was quite isolating."
The recently-turned-entrepreneur stated that people viewed her life as a princess who won her kingdom after marriage. In reality, it was lonelier and a lot quieter. Recalling her twenties, she shared:
"I think we (Mira and her friends) did evolve separately. I’d like to admit that it was quite isolating because we were just in different phases of life at that time. You get to different phases in life, and you look at your friends… I wish I could do what she’s doing."
Mira further added that her friends were pursuing master's degrees, while some took a gap year and others backpacked across continents. On the other hand, she was adjusting to a new city, a new home in a new family. She expressed how she wasn't able to talk to them as often as she used to. Mira was quoted as saying:
"I even remember, I couldn’t speak to them as often as I used to. They were like, ‘Just because you got married doesn’t mean you forget us!’ And I was like, ‘Guys, I’m genuinely caught up!' I don’t think they understood it then, but fortunately, the friendship kind of sustained. They understand it now because they’re in a similar phase."
Last year, Mira Kapoor launched her own skincare label, Akind. It is available on Tira Beauty, which is the brainchild of Isha Ambani. Mira has also come with her wellness centre in Mumbai.
