When Shahid Kapoor announced getting married to a Delhi-based, Mira Rajput, in an arranged marriage. Soon, journalists, fans and everyone became CID in order to find the details about the girl, which led to Mira cutting off her presence from social media. Recently, the star wife talked about the reason for deactivating her Facebook account amidst the whole clamour.
Recently, in an interview with podcast, Moments Of Silence, hosted by Naina Bhan and Sakshi Shivdasani, Mira was questioned about her life in the media limelight at the age of 20. Mira Kapoor revealed that deactivating her Facebook account was the first thing she did, right before getting married to Shahid Kapoor.
Sharing the reason behind it, Mira stated that she deactivated her account as she got scared that someone would hack into her social media and would have access to her old party picture and judge her about her dressing sense. Mira added that the moment details about her made it to the media, she got 3000 friend request. Mira said:
"That was the one of the thing I had to do by the way I had to deactivate my Facebook account. Yeah before marriage. I suddenly got like some 3000 friend request or something and at that time 3000 felt like the whole world wants to. And at that I had this feeling if somebody hacks into my account, they would see pictures of me when I was like 15 at party and what knows I would be wearing."
Further in the interview, Mira talked about her life so far in Mumbai and also opened up about life behind the 'fairy tale' of moving cities after getting married to Shahid at just the age of 20. Mira shared that she felt isolated and a little lonely. Elaborating on the same, Mira said:
"It was quite isolating."
The recently-turned-entrepreneur stated that people viewed her life as a princess who won her kingdom after marriage. In reality, it was lonelier and a lot quieter. Recalling her twenties, she shared:

"I think we (Mira and her friends) did evolve separately. I’d like to admit that it was quite isolating because we were just in different phases of life at that time. You get to different phases in life, and you look at your friends… I wish I could do what she’s doing."
Mira further added that her friends were pursuing master's degrees, while some took a gap year and others backpacked across continents. On the other hand, she was adjusting to a new city, a new home in a new family. She expressed how she wasn't able to talk to them as often as she used to. Mira was quoted as saying:
"I even remember, I couldn’t speak to them as often as I used to. They were like, ‘Just because you got married doesn’t mean you forget us!’ And I was like, ‘Guys, I’m genuinely caught up!' I don’t think they understood it then, but fortunately, the friendship kind of sustained. They understand it now because they’re in a similar phase."
