Sometime back, Vogue Wedding Book 2019 had released their edition for this year and the lovebirds, Mira Rajput Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor posed as the cover couple! While for some, Shahid and Mira had stolen their hearts with just one glance at their sizzling chemistry in the pictures, for others, B-town superstar’s wife being featured on the cover became a subject of the trolls. Netizens trolled star wife, Mira for her double standards as she doesn’t support nepotism but chose to feature on a magazine cover just because she is Shahid’s wife.
Some of the comments could be read as "Mira Kapoor, wife of Shahid Kapoor told on Koffee with Karan episode that she is against Nepotism. Now she is getting covered on Vogue because she is wife of Shahid Kapoor", "I thought you were not fond of bollywood, such a nice way of having double standards", "Married a celeb and gave birth to two of his children, easiest way to reach Vogue", "when you contributed nothing in group assignment and still end up getting an ‘A'", "I dont get it! Can anyone be in a vogue cover! Just because u have a celeb husband/wife doesn't mean you're entitled to be treated same like a celeb. You gottaa earn some respect for having done something n not just being a trophy wife. Its nothing personal but I think the ppl who actually deserve it should get the chance." In August 2018, when Mira Rajput Kapoor was in the third trimester of her second pregnancy, she had collaborated with Olay on a commercial and had stepped into the showbiz world with her first TV ad. Mira had shared her commercial on her social media handle, and had captioned it, “Being a mother doesn’t mean you stop being yourself right? I took the #Olay #SkinTransformation #28Daychallenge Here’s my #Reborn story.. what’s yours? @olayindia”. While her husband, Shahid Kapoor was lovestruck with her commercial and had commented on her post, “Who’s this stunner”, some people had targeted her with the demeaning comments claiming that she is too young to do an anti-ageing cream advertisement. Mira Rajput Kapoor’s acting debut made her the new target of trolls. While some people claimed that she is too young to do an anti-ageing cream advertisement, others said she should have not copied Kareena Kapoor Khan. One Insta user commented, “@shahidkapoor wanted to marry a normal girl who had nothing to do with the industry lol he married a wannabe who only wants to use his name and get ads and make Money..IRONY”, another said, “@shahidkapoor paisa khilaake ad karwayaa aur khud hi stunned bhi hogaye Kya?!!”. In a throwback interview, Mira Rajput Kapoor had talked about being a proud stay-at-home mother to Misha and said, “I am a homemaker and I am proud of the label. I love being home. I had a difficult pregnancy and now I want to spend every moment I can with my daughter.” Mira went on to say, “I love being at home, I love being a mother to my child, I wouldn’t want to spend one hour a day with my child and rush off to work, why did I have her? She is not a puppy; I want to be there for her as a mother.” Referring to her quote, one Insta user wrote, “Did you leave your puppy, I mean your daughter back home to do this? Nice to know you are progressing as a mother and don’t feel need to spend ‘ALL’ your time with your daughter.”
In an interview with Times Now, when Mira Rajput Kapoor was asked about being trolled for the commercial, she had retorted, “The internet is one platform that is accessible to everyone. People can say what they feel and it gives everyone the right to express themselves the way they want and to what extent they feel like. So, there will be opinions. It's not that everyone is going to love you. I have always spoken for myself and I have never shied away from expressing what I truly feel.”
Mira Rajput Kapoor had continued, “It’s not something new for me. Nowadays, people receive backlash for whatever they do or say. It is the way the internet is. At some level, it is a bit sad.” Mira further shared nervousness while shooting for the ad, and said, “I won't lie, I was very nervous because doing an ad was completely out of my comfort zone. But I think what put me at ease was the nature of the ad, which was very conversational with real experiences. It was something I have already been through. I felt that I was just talking about something that I have gone through myself and from my own point of view. The natural synergy put me at ease.” (Also Read: Unseen Picture Of Shahid Kapoor And Mira Rajput Kapoor Taking Phere At Their Gurudwara Wedding)
