Miss World Finalists Dressed Up In 'Heeramandi' Costumes And Walked The Ramp With The Starcast

Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar is currently a rage among all the OTT buffs for all the right reasons. It is the debut web series by ace filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali, and he has totally nailed the series with the opulent costume and set design. The movie's screenplay is something to die for, and no one can ever match the vision of Sanjay Leela Bhansali, and he proved it yet again with this masterpiece. The costume for the series was designed by Rimple and Harpreet Narula, who recently even curated a special wardrobe for all thirteen Miss World 2024 finalists.

The 71st Miss World pageant was held in Mumbai after a 28-year hiatus. Sanjay Leela Bhansali seized the special occasion and decided to release the track, Sakal Ban on the final night. Not only did the steelar star cast walk down the ramp dressed like a dream in exclusive Heeramandi-inspired outfits, but all the finalists also donned exquisite Rimple and Harpreet Narula pieces.

The Miss World finalists wore special Heeramandi-inspired outfits on the final night 

Heermandi is a period drama based on the pre-independence era, so the costume was designed based on the timeline. For the Miss World final night, Rimple and Harpreet Narula designed outfits in the hues of gold, yellow, mustard, green and orange as the lyrics revolved around "Phul rahi sarso, Sakal ban". Each piece was designed with intricate zardozi detailing, delicate Persian embroidery, and English motifs. All the 13 finalists were seen walking the ramp in their custom-made Heeramandi-inspired outfits, and they looked regal and straight out of a Bhansali movie.

The central vision behind the extravagant threadwork was to bring forth the Mughal Empire's effect on the pre-independence textile industry. On the other hand, the jewellery was matched with the ensembles and curated with the finest gemstones and diamonds to reflect upon the luxury of the Tawaifs. Taking about their outfit inspiration, Rimple and Harpreet added:

"Our masterful craftsmanship and unwavering dedication, we transformed the Miss World 2024 stage into a veritable tapestry of global elegance and cultural homage. Our creations not only captivated the audience but also served as a testament to the enduring allure of Indian couture on the world stage."

The star cast of Heeramandi walked down the ramp along with the Miss World finalists

For the grand finale of Miss World 2024, the star-studded cast of Heeramandi, including Sonakshi Sinha, Sanjeeda Shaikh, Richa Chadha, Manisha Koirala, Aditi Rao Hydari, and Sharmin Sehgal, graced the ramp alongside the finalists. Their elegant walk, accompanied by the melodious Sakal Ban, offered a glimpse into the rich cultural heritage of Indian ethnicity.
