Hasin Jahan's Ex-Husband And Elder Daughter Once Reacted To Her Legal Dispute With Mohammed Shami

Mohammed Shami got married to Hasin Jahan back in 2014, reportedly after dating for two years. Almost four years after their wedding, problems cropped up between the duo. Shami's wife, Hasin, heaped some serious allegations against him, including match fixing, domestic violence, adultery, dowry harassment and whatnot. The incident took a significant toll on the cricketer, so much so that he even contemplated suicide.

As of now, the legal battle has been going on, and the couple is legally separated, and their divorce isn't finalised yet. Recently, reports claimed that Shami was asked to pay Rs. 4 lakh per month to his estranged wife for maintenance. Amid this, look back at a time, when Hasin's first husband, Sheikh Saifuddin, talked about her legal dispute with Mohammed Shami.

Speaking to Zee 24 Ghanta, Sheikh Saifuddin shared that he wished that Shami and Hasin could resolve their differences and get back together. He further talked about his past relationship with Hasin, and shared that they met each other in 2000, and after two years, they got married. The couple welcomed two daughters in 2003 and 2006. However, Hasin wanted to be independent and study more, and she let her family members know the same. Being a middle-class orthodox family, Hasin's wish to be more educated and wanting to make her own identity was not accepted in their family, leading to their marital discord. It was in 2010, when Sheikh and Hasin were legally divorced.

In the same interview, Hasin's elder daughter with Sheikh Saifuddin revealed that she and her sister wanted their mom to live a happy marital life, thereby hoping for her marital trouble to end. She also shared that she misses her mother badly and revealed that she could only visit her during holidays. For the unversed, Hasin and Shami also have a daughter, Aairah Shami, who currently lives with her mother.

The Calcutta High Court ordered Mohammed Shami to pay a hefty amount of money to his wife and daughter

Mohammed Shami's estranged wife, Hasin Jahan moved to the Calcutta High Court with a plea after she was not aligned with the district court's order to the cricketer to pay Rs. 50K to her and Rs. 80K to their daughter. She had pleaded for a total amount of Rs. 10 lakh, including Rs. 7 lakh for herself and Rs. 3 lakh for their daughter. As of July 1, 2025, the Calcutta High Court asked Mohammed Shami to pay a total of Rs. 4 lakh to his estranged wife and his daughter. The bench decided on an amount of Rs. 1.5 lakh for Shami's estranged wife, while Rs. 2.5 lakh for their daughter, while stating that the cricketer would be free to contribute to his daughter, Aaira Shami's expenses voluntarily.
