Over the years, Halloween has evolved into a major fashion event among Hollywood celebrities. Two years ago, in 2023, Becky G dressed up as the popular character 'Emily' from fantasy film, Corpse Bride, directed by Tim Burton and Mike Johnson. For the look, Becky went with a pale, blue-tinted bridal makeup, sunken-but-romantic eyes and a wedding gown. The outfit was perfect for Halloween as it gave both a sweet and spooky vibe. For the unversed, Becky G is a singer and actress, who has appeared in Power Rangers, Blue Beetle, A.X.L and more.

While celebrities turn themselves into film characters, in 2023, the popular contestant of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, Rachel Lindsay dressed up as singer, Rihanna from the 2023 Super Bowl Halftime Show. She added sleek hair, tailored stage pieces and accessories that took fans back to the iconic concert of Rihanna. The highlight of the outfit was the pregnant belly, which Rachel beautifully recreated.

In 2022, Heidi Klum chose a full-on body costume, which transformed her into a massive worm. And her face was peeping in between. She completed her look with matching makeup on her face. She was the highlight that year, because she chose to leave behind beauty and glamour and dress according to the day. American singer, rapper and four-time Grammy award winner, Lizzo, who is known for her songs like Juice and Truth Hurts, dressed up as ‘Grogu’ (Baby Yoda) from The Mandalorian in 2021. She painted her skin mint-green, added prosthetic ears and a tan and wore an oversized robe to mimic the beloved character. Her look instantly grabbed attention on social media and fans were surprised to see a pop star like this.

During Halloween 2018, popular actress, Joey King showed up as 'Lord Voldemort' from the most loved show, Harry Potter. She used extensive makeup and prosthetics to remove the nose and pale the skin. In 2017, Kim Kardashian recreated one of the most iconic Grammy looks of singer, Cher. She turned a little more gorgeous on Halloween that year. Kim wore a two-piece ensemble made of a sparkling yellow-gold fabric, which included a shimmering crop top with sequins and beads and for the bottoms, she went with a low-rise skirt. She completed her look with gold earrings and soft makeup. Reportedly, the original outfit of Cher was designed by Bob Mackie.

The Bodak Yellow singer and rapper, Cardi B turned heads in 2017, when she channeled her inner ‘Cruella de Vil’ from 101 Dalmatians in the most beautiful manner. She chose a black-and-white wig and exaggerated fur coat. She completed her look with glamorous makeup and an accessory. As of 2025, the rapper is expecting her fourth child with NFL star, Stefon Diggs.
In 2016, the Wicked actress, Cynthia Erivo transformed into 'Neytiri' from the film, Avatar. For the look, she covered herself in blue paint and paid attention to minor detailing on the face. She completed her look with braided hair extensions and contact lenses. Her costume was enough for fans to recognise her character within seconds.
While all Hollywood celebrities transformed into a person or a character, Katy Perry's 2014 look for Halloween still remains iconic as she showed up as a giant, Flamin’ Hot Cheetos. She was dressed as an orange tailored, oversized outfit, which added a sense of humour. She also carried a Cheetos bag as a prop.
