Yesteryear actress, Mumtaz was known for her impeccable beauty and startling onscreen presence. After making her acting debut with the film, Sone Ki Chidiya in 1958, she has simply ruled the Hindi cinema in the 1960s and 70s. Counted among some of the most bankable actresses of her time, Mumtaz never misses a chance to drool the hearts of her millions of fans. Recently, a video went viral, wherein Mumtaz was seen recreating her popular song, Koi Sehri Babu, from her 1973 released film, Loafer, along with veteran singer, Asha Bhosle, and it simply blew our minds.
Now, in an interview with ETimes, Mumtaz talked about her recent viral video where she was seen dancing to Koi Sehri Babu, with Asha Bhosle. It was quite a nostalgic moment, and we could also see Mumtaz gracefully showing off some moves from her original performance in the film. Talking about the moment when she grooved to the song, Mumtaz mentioned that she did it only for Asha. Further, she threw light on how she generally doesn't dance at various functions and mentioned:
“I did some simple steps. Waise bachpan mein itni mehenat kari thi toh ab aa hi jata hai naturally. I am just glad that I am still graceful. Waise, I don’t dance at functions, I only did it for Asha ji. She had invited me to her place recently and we danced on the occasion. Har jaga dance karo toh uski respect bhi nahi hoti. Woh kahawat hai na… Qadar kho baithta hai roz ka aana jaana.”

In the same conversation, Mumtaz was asked about her special equation with Asha. To this, Mumtaz revealed that she has known the legendary singer right from her childhood. Further, revealing more facts about the same, the actress mentioned that the duo was neighbours. She added:
“I know Ashaji since I was a kid. We were neighbours in Walkeshwar (Mumbai). I knew Lataji (Mangeshkar) too, and they have always been like family to me.”
Coming back to Mumtaz's personal life, she was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 54. However, she gave a strong fight to the deadliest disease and has been an advocate of the same since then. But due to her lengthy treatment process, she had also gained huge weight, which is why she had to start working out. Time and again, we have seen her sharing several videos, while showcasing her intense workout. Talking about the same, she shared:
“Two decades ago, I battled cancer. I was not supposed to be on a diet as I was taking treatment. As a result, I had put on a lot of weight. That’s when I started working out and continue to do so. I work out at a gym in London, and in Mumbai, I have a set up at home where I can work out. I work hard to maintain myself and remain fit. It is not only my body, I also focus on my overall well-being. I sleep at 9 pm and wake up at 6 am. I am very particular about my appearance because I don’t want to disappoint my fans.”

At the end of the conversation, she was asked whether she would return to the big screen. For the unversed, she was last seen in the 2010 documentary, 1 a Minute. Thus, while answering, she mentioned having no interest in boring and typical roles, and concluded:
“I don’t want to do those boring, typical roles. I can play Ranbir Kapoor or Tiger Shroff’s mother on screen, but the role should be interesting.”
