Naga Chaitanya's Maternal Family Reportedly Hosted A Party For Sobhita, As News Of Feud Surfaced

South's superstar, Naga Chaitanya got engaged on August 8, 2024, with his ladylove, Sobhita Dhulipala. The two reportedly dated for two years and finally decided to take the leap of faith and are planning to get married. For those who may not know, Naga Chaitanya was previously married to Samantha Ruth Prabhu, but their love story took a different turn after four years of marital bliss.

All's well amid Naga Chaitanya's family after his engagement with Sobhita Dhulipala

Earlier reports suggested that Naga Chaitanya's maternal family had reservations about his engagement with Sobhita Dhulipala. To provide some context, Naga Chaitanya is the son of actor, Nagarjuna from his first marriage to Lakshmi Daggubati. The Daggubati family, who are also famous in the South Indian film industry, had warmly embraced Naga's first wife, Samantha, and many of them continue to show their support for her on social media.

However, as per reports, the equation is not the same amid Daggubati family and Naga Chaitanya's second-to-be-wife, Sobhita. Reports suggest that members of the Daggubati family, like Venkatesh Daggubati, Rana Daggubati, and Malvika Daggubati, do not follow Sobhita on social media. This has led to speculation about the possible tensions between the Daggubati and Akkineni families.

The Daggubati reportedly hosted a high-tea party for Sobhita Dhulipala

A source close to both the families revealed that all such claims and speculations of tension amid the two families are false. The source added that the Daggubati family hosted a high-tea party for Sobhita after her engagement with Naga Chaitanya. The source further added:

"The Daggubati-Akkineni clan gathered at the Daggubati residence for a warm high tea, with Suresh Babu, Venkatesh, and their families in attendance. It was a joyful occasion that highlighted the strong bond between the two families."

Nagarjuna Akkineni announced Chaitanya and Sobhita's engagement via an X post

Taking to X, Nagarjuna Akkineni dropped two pictures from Chaitanya and Sobhita's intimate engagement ceremony and penned a beautiful note along with it. The loving father shared the details of the duo's engagement, which took place at 9:42 am and also welcomed Sobhita into their family. He wished the couple a lifetime of love and happiness and wrote: 

"We are delighted to announce the engagement of our son, Naga Chaitanya, to Sobhita Dhulipala, which took place this morning at 9:42 am!! We are overjoyed to welcome her into our family. Congratulations to the happy couple! Wishing them a lifetime of love and happiness. God bless! 8.8.8 A beginning of infinite love."

In the pictures from their engagement, Sobhita looked drop-dead gorgeous in a pink-hued silk saree from the shelves of Manish Malhotra. She paired the saree with a matching blouse and opted for sleek pieces of gold jewellery to complete her look. Meanwhile, her fiance, Chaitanya, wore an ivory-hued white kurta-pyjama and a matching doshala.
