Neil Nitin Mukesh Says Katrina Kaif Had An Issue With His Fair Complexion, 'Dushman Ban Gaye...'

Neil Nitin Mukesh is one of the finest actors in the film industry. Coming from a popular family of musicians, the actor debuted as a child artist in the 1998 film, Vijay and never looked back. He earned fame for his good looks, versatile acting, and calm personality. Over the years, Neil got a chance to work with several prominent actors, and his pairing with Katrina Kaif in the 2009 film, New York is still cherished by fans on social media. In a recent interview, Neil opened up about his bond with the actress and revealed how she had a problem with his fair complexion. 

Neil Nitin Mukesh recalls being 'enemies' with Katrina Kaif 

Neil Nitin Mukesh is one of the most honest actors in showbiz who never tries to avoid difficult questions. Recently, he sat down for an interview with On Public Demand by Filmygyan. During the conversation, Neil was asked about his popular 2009 film, New York and his bond with Katrina Kaif. In his response, the actor revealed that, in the first instance, he and Katrina became enemies and fought. Recalling the memories, he said: 

“Pehle din humari mulakat hui toh hum bilkul dost nahi, dushman ban gaye the. Pehla scene humara saath main ho raha tha aur ladayi pe ladayi. Har baat cut kiye ja rahi thi. Kuch na kuch problem tha toh main bhi pooche ja raha hoon ki problem hai kya?”

After trying several times, Neil learnt that Katrina Kaif had problems with his fair complexion. Later, she had an issue with his approach towards his character and other things. Consequently, he was angry with her as he had already worked in an intense film before. In his words: 

“Phir maaloon pada ki mere rang se kuch unko problem thi. Phir kisi kirdaar se, jis kisam se main usse kar raha tha. Toh kuch na kuch woh masti kar rahi thi mere saath aur main wahan pe bohot naraaz ho raha tha kyuki main aa raha tha ek intense Johnny Gaddaar se.”

After their constant conflicts, Neil kept thinking about what he could do to portray his character in the best possible way. Again, one day, Katrina scolded him after he gave one of his shot, and Neil decided to confront her and understand the actual issue. However, he learnt she wasn't angry with him when they communicated. Rather, she was nervous because she had mostly done comedy films before New York. As a result, they cleared up their misunderstandings and developed a great bond.

Neil Nitin Mukesh is the grandson of veteran singer, Mukesh and was named by Lata Mangeshkar. Neil debuted as a child actor in the 1988 film, Vijay and Jaisi Karni Waisi Bharnii. He again later made his debut as a lead with Johnny Gaddaar in 2007. Neil starred in films like Aa Dekhen Zara, New York, Lafangey Parindey, 7 Khoon Maaf, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, Saaho and more. The actor was last seen in Hisaab Barabar, co-starring R Madhavan.
