North West, as the daughter of the two most controversial and popular celebrities of the time, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, has always remained in the limelight since before her birth. From Kim being pregnant with North to her childhood, the 12-year-old's life has been spent in front of a camera for the most part. North West has always liked to experiment with her looks 

North was first seen wearing make-up when she was three years old. As a toddler, she had worn orange eyeshadow to match her outfit. Although people had trolled Kim Kardashian then for making her baby daughter wear make-up, she let North experiment with clothes and her looks as the years went by. Kim has also often shared snaps of getting dolled up alongside her eldest daughter.

Over the years, people have seen North West grow up in front of the camera. Kim's photos from the last few years, featuring North, had surprised people to see how she was slowly growing up into her pre-teens. However, when photos of the mother and daughter duo from their Rome vacation hit the internet, people couldn't believe their eyes. North looked unrecognisable. She wore a corset top, a mini-skirt, and knee-high boots, all in black hues. Along with that, the 12-year-old had worn a neon blue wig styled into two long ponytails.

In snaps from the same Rome vacation, people noticed that North had a dermal piercing on her middle finger. For the unversed, dermal piercings have no entry and exit points. It is a single-point piercing that goes under the skin. As a result, dermal piercings are said to be more painful than the usual ones and take a lot of time to heal and require proper care. Hence, Kim's 12-year-old daughter, North, sporting a dermal piercing, did not sit well with people. The Skims founder was lambasted and trolled by netizens. Many tattoo experts have said that they only allow their clients to get this particular kind of piercing after they turn eighteen. Moreover, a dermal piercing on the finger is also prone to being ripped out, according to many reports. 

North West's face tattoo and septum piercing look goes viral 

North West's recent TikTok showed her shocking new look. The 12-year-old was seen with two face tattoos, one was a star, and the other was her name in cursive. North also had a septum piercing, faux long lashes, black grills (stylised blackened teeth), henna on her hand, and heavy braids with blue highlights. Although North's captions say, "Fake piercings and fake tatts 4 life", meaning that they are temporary, her new look has still grabbed a lot of headlines. 

Kim Kardashian had recently opened up about North West's fashion choices

Just a few days before North shocked the world with her new avatar, Kim mentioned on the Call Me Daddy podcast that she does make some mistakes with her daughter's fashion choices. The Skims founder also stated that she is still learning as a mother and sometimes informs her daughter when she cannot wear a certain piece of clothing again. However, Kim also doesn't want to take away North's creativity. The reality star made this statement following the backlash she received after North, as a 12-year-old, was seen wearing a corset top and mini skirt during their vacation. Kim shared:

"It's really hard and it's really interesting because all the kids are wearing the same things. But then my daughter tries to wear it and then I'm like, 'OK we're never wearing that again.' Unfortunately, we made that mistake in front of the whole world. She's usually a girl that dresses like a tomboy most of the time and she wanted to try something that her friends were wearing and went to the same place that they went to... and it's just like, okay, wait, maybe you can't wear that, you know?"
