Allu Arjun’s Pushpa has built a huge fan base through its engaging storyline and hit songs. From Srivalli to item number, Oo Antava, the songs from Pushpa: The Rise have left the audience in a frenzy. For the unversed, Pushpa: The Rise was released on December 17, 2021. While fans still go crazy over the item song, Oo Antava, featuring Telugu star, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, music composer, Devi Sri Prasad made a shocking revelation about the song. For the unversed, Devi Sri Prasad has been the music composer in the Pushpa franchise.
Speaking to the media at a recent event, music composer, Devi Sri Prasad revealed that his song, Oo Antava, featuring South Indian actress, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, has been recreated abroad by a Turkish artist named Atiye. For those unaware, the item song was a pan-India hit and has received widespread acclaim. Devi Sri Prasad shared that while people in India have gone crazy over the item number, after it was plagiarised in Turkey, it is now available worldwide as a ‘plain copy’. In his words:
"You've all enjoyed the Oo Antava song from Pushpa. However, now the song is copied in Turkish. The version sung by singer Atiye is very similar to ours, so much so that we could call it a plain copy."
Further in the same event, Devi shared that he has been thinking of filing a case against the Turkish artist, Atiye and her team. For the unversed, Atiye’s latest Turkish song, Anlayana, has recently come under scrutiny for blindly copying the original score of Oo Antava, composed by Devi Sri Prasad. The music composer also shared that this thing has indicated the influence of Telugu films globally. In his words:
"I am thinking about filing a case against them and what to do. But I am proud that our Telugu song has been copied."
Allu Arjun’s Pushpa franchise was directed by Bandreddi Sukumar. The first instalment, Pushpa: The Rise, was released on December 17, 2021, and became the highest-grossing film in India that year. The second instalment, Pushpa 2: The Rule, was released on December 5, 2024, and it won many accolades, including being the highest-grossing Indian film of that year, the second-highest-grossing Telugu film, and the third-highest-grossing Indian film of all time. For the uninitiated, the first instalment earned nearly Rs. 360 to Rs. 393.50 crore worldwide, and the second instalment earned over Rs. 1740.95 crore worldwide.
Following the immense commercial success, director, Bandreddi Sukumar shared that he would bring a third instalment of the Pushpa franchise, with Allu Arjun as the lead actor. In fact, the film's post-credits scene in Pushpa 2: The Rule also showcased the continuation of the film with a cliffhanger, and the third part of the franchise has been titled Pushpa 3: The Rampage. According to a report by The Times of India, the tentative release of the third instalment of the blockbuster franchise is around 2028.
