In a recent interview with ABP UNCUT, Aasif Khan took a trip down the memory lane and recalled how he used to work as a waiter during his struggling period in Mumbai. Talking about the same, he shared that when Kareena and Saif had a grand wedding at the Taj Hotel in 2012, he was washing dishes in the kitchen. The actor revealed that he wanted to meet the Bollywood's power couple, but his manager had denied permission. Aasif shared:
“I cried that day as I could not meet the actors despite being so close to them."
However, that incident had a bright side and proved to be a turning point in Aasif's life. After the disheartening day, the Panchayat actor got motivated to try harder to find his way into Bollywood. Around a month later, Aasif got an appointment with a casting agency, but he was mocked for his looks. Recalling the meeting, Aasif said:
“The manager of the firm told me…. ‘Don’t take my feedback personally, I am giving you honest feedback. Neither your looks are attractive, nor your body is very good, why would anyone cast you?’.”

However, Aasif didn't take the feedback to heart and instead asked the manager about what he should do to get into Bollywood. The casting person suggested that he should learn acting first and get the basics right. So, Aasif made up his mind to return to Rajasthan and enrolled himself in a theatre group in Jaipur, where he worked for six years. Later, he went back to Mumbai to try his luck in the entertainment industry again, and he got the job of a casting assistant. After doing some roles as a junior artist in many Bollywood movies, Aasif didn't have to look back.
