Shah Rukh Khan is one of the most celebrated actors of all time. He has been ruling the hearts of his millions of fans for more than a few decades. However, for a few years, he has stopped posing in front of the paparazzi and randomly interacting with the media. Now, an eminent paparazzi has opened up about the real reason behind this.
It was on October 3, 2021, an unfortunate day for Shah Rukh Khan's family, as the Narcotics Control Bureau arrested his son, Aryan Khan. As per the reports, Aryan was arrested for the alleged consumption of drugs after the NCB officials raided a party on a Goa-bound cruise ship. It was only after 26 days, on October 28, 2021, when the Bombay High Court finally granted Aryan bail due to lack of evidence. He was kept in the Arthur Road jail prior to his bail. Since then, Shah Rukh has avoided the paparazzi and stopped directly interacting with the media.

Now, an eminent paparazzi named Varinder Chawla in a conversation with Hindi Rush, opened up about his 5-minute conversation on a call with the superstar, and revealed why the actor started avoiding the paparazzi after 2021. Varinder mentioned that it was during Shah Rukh's film, Pathaan's release that his team captured an intimate glimpse of the actor and sent it to him. However, he had disapproved of uploading the same as, according to him, it was completely an invasion of privacy. Varinder said:
“When Pathaan released in 2023, then my team had spotted Shah Rukh Khan and they sent it to me. But, I didn’t like it because it seemed like we were invading his privacy. And SRK seemed angry. Then I made a call to the actor’s PR, informed them about the video my team recorded and told them that I won’t be using it. And apologised to them on behalf of my team for invading their privacy.”
Thus, Varinder informed and apologised to Shah Rukh's PR team and ensured the video was not uploaded. Soon after this, he received a call from the legendary actor, who thanked Varinder for not invading his privacy. Following this, Varinder explained how, just like any doting father, Shah Rukh was also extremely distressed by the rubbish written about his son. Thus, he became extremely angry with the media and even stopped posing for the paps. Varinder shared:
“You will not believe me, soon after my call, I quickly received a call from SRK’s manager who first thanked me and then informed me that Shah Rukh wanted to speak to me. I was in shock. From running behind his car to get a glimpse of him to getting a call from him, it seemed too unreal. I said, ‘Anytime’. We spoke for over five minutes. After speaking to him, I realised his love for his children, his son Aryan Khan. I too have children, if people went around telling ill and negative things about my children, I too would feel sad. He was so sad, upset back then, we didn’t care about that. We just kept complaining that SRK doesn’t give us photos and always hides his face. He is mad at the media for what they did with his son.”

Earlier, during an interaction with the India Today magazine, NCB's deputy director-general, Sanjay Singh talked about Shah Rukh Khan's condition after Aryan Khan's arrest. Sanjay revealed that Shah Rukh was very concerned about Aryan’s physical and mental health after he got arrested. When Sanjay told him that Aryan was not able to sleep, the actor requested the NCB's official to let him meet his son, Aryan and to stay with him through the night, but he was not allowed to do so. Thus, Shah Rukh was in tears when he alleged that his son was being ‘vilified’ without any evidence and had said to him:
“We have been painted as some kind of big criminals or monsters who are out to destroy society and we find going to work tough every day.”
